Company description Anthias Divers is a professional and friendly European owned and managed dive center based in Sharm El Sheikh.
The Red Sea is undoubtably one of the top dive destinations worldwide and with Anthias Divers we can show you first hand the incredible underwater world of colourful reefs, tropical fish and famous shipwrecks.
Our Instructors and dive guides are all experienced and fully qualified professionals with many years experience of Red Sea diving. Our two owners, Hubert (Big Boss), is an Instructor Trainer, Frank (Mini Boss), is a DiveControl Specialty Instructor and our manager Iain (A new Boss!) is an Instructor Certifier. All our staff are trained and assesed in house ensuring that you have trained, experienced, motivated and friendly staff. The diver development starts from Open-Water-Diver, then Advanced-Open-Water-Diver, Stress- and Rescue-Diver leading to Divemaster (Dive Control Specialist).
*The Open Water Diver Course
The Open Water Diver Course lasts 4 days and will introduce you to the basic skills and knowledge needed to become a safe and comfortable diver. With class size limited to a maximum of 4 guests you are sure to receive the personal tuition and mentoring you expect. The first 2 days are conducted in our bay where you`ll soon see how easy diving really is and then you will put into practice what you`ve learnt as we dive the next 2 days from our boat. On successful completion of the course you will receive your international certification directly from the dive center.
*The Advanced Open Water Diver
With 24 logged dives including 4 specialties you can acheive the SSI Advanced Open Water Diver rating. The course includes 6 specialty dives which can include deep diving, night diving, navigation, drift, wreck, Nitrox and photography. By experiencing first hand these dives with your instructor, and with limited classroom time, this is the perfect course to increase your diving knowledge and experience while on vacation.
*The Stress and Rescue Diver Course
The Stress and Rescue course is designed to give you a better understanding of reducing any potential problems that could occur with you or your buddy while diving.This 3 day course can be completed directly after your Open Water Diver course and consists of 2 confined water dives and 2 open water dives, where you will practise your rescue skills under the direct supervision of your instructor. With the knowledge and skills taught during this course you will become a more safe and comfortable diver.
*Dive Master to Instructor!
Anthias Divers is a Premier SSI Instructor Training facility allowing us to offer Dive Master and Instructor internships. With real hands on experience you will develop your diving and leadership skills and knowledge allowing you to begin a rewarding and exciting new career in the worldwide dive industry. Although based for several months in the worldclass diving resort of Sharm El Sheikh and with some of the best diving in the world, this internship requires hard work and dedication.
You will be part of our professional team and expected to meet the high standards that our dive center adheres too. At the same time we can virtually guarantee you will have one of the best experiences of your life!
Location description: The area around Sharm El Sheikh has over 30 quality dive sites and each day we leave by boat to visit 2 or 3 different sites. With small groups, experienced and qualified dive guides we can give a quality, personalised service where each guest is treated as an individual. Beginners and experienced divers will not be in the same group allowing a more flexible dive schedule for all. Regardless of experience your safety is our paramount concern. Daily dive trips cost between 50 and 60 Euros for a 2 tank dive and packages start at around 240 Euros for a 5 day, 10 dive pack.
The wreck of the Thistlegorm, a world famous casaulty of the last war, is regularly visited by us with a full day excursion. Nitrox is available for this trip for suitably qualified divers and Nitrox courses are also available during the trip. Although it`s an early start you won`t be dissapointed!
*The Straights of Tiran
For many years the narrow sea passage leading to the Gulf of Aquba has been a curse for mariners with submerged reefs, strong winds and large waves causing numerous maritime hazards, with evidence clearly showing on two of the reefs! On the other hand it`s a divers dream! These environmental conditions lead to some of the most exhilerating and fascinating dives in the Red Sea. More often than not we`ll drift dive each reef allowing you to truly appreciate the myriad of flora and fauna that abound. Keep an eye out for large pelagic critters that regularly visit these reefs!
*The National park of Ras Mohammed
The protected National Park of Ras Mohammed is undoubtably one of the most famous and spectacular dive sites in the world and should not be missed!
The reef abounds with all types of marine life from the smallest local inhabitant to regular pelagic visitors. Swimming through schools of Snappers and Jacks, over drop offs and along the plateau, surrounded by incredible colours and with a good chance of seeing reef sharks this is one dive you`ll never forget! Like all the reefs, please remember to touch nothing and allow future generations to experience this magnificent underwater spectacle.
*Dahab
Dahab is a traditional Bedouin fishing village that was made popular by the Hippies and Backpackers many years ago.
Today Dahab still retains many of it`s charms and is blessed with some incredible shore dives including the Blue Hole, Bells and the Canyon. Anthias runs weekly trips to Dahab to experience these dives with plenty of time left to explore Dahab and do a little shopping.
