Company description Mr. DIVER is a chain of diving centres that was created to satisfy the needs, ambitions and – why not? – even the whims of expert divers, as well as to accompany by hand those who are having their first diving experiences. Mr. Diver is the starting point where, even when your feet are dry, your head will still be under the water, where it’s fun to stay up late with friends exchanging your most exciting sea adventures, and give yourself a taste of those which await you the next day.
Let us get right to the point: once you have set foot inside our diving centre, you will find yourself in an environment that is much more than a mere stopover for and between dives: it’s really and truly a lounge complete with a bar, a book and film library and an Internet access point; a place where you can breath and taste the sea in its fullness. Come visit us and you will see what we mean: you’ll never want to leave again.

Petrongari began his diving activity as a self-taught diver in 1970. In 1974 he organised diving trips to the Maldives, Mauritius and the Seychelles, as well as to the most beautiful Italian islands. Amongst these was Ventotene, where he founded the Centro Sub Ventotene (Ventotene Diving Centre), one of the first Italian diving centres. As a keen scholar of underwater archaeology, he discovered some important ancient Roman shipwrecks. From 1977 to 1978 he attended the Istituto Professionale Subacqueo Marco Polo (Marco Polo Professional Diver’s Institute) in Rome, and then he worked as a free-lancer in the Northern seas for Thalassa Off-shore of Aberdeen, Scotland.
In 1981 he set the world record for time spent underwater by remaining under the water for 103 hours without interruption and in 1987 he improved his previous record by reaching 136 hours. This new record had a predominantly scientific motivation behind it: the observation of dolphin’s behaviour when they are in prolonged contact with man. For this reason, the test took place at the Rimini dolphinarium. This initiative, called Progetto Genesi (Project Genesis), was sponsored by ``Mondo Sommerso`` and was selected for the ``Rolex Awards for Enterprises``. It lasted for three years, allowing a significant amount of scientific material, video footage and photographs to be gathered. Project Genesis was the topic of discussion on many television programmes on Italian TV.
In 1997, in collaboration with the Ghost S.p.A. Group, he launched the Murphy & Nye Diving clothing range, which was designed to meet diver’s needs. In 1999, he and other partners founded Pianeta Diving (Planet Diving), a store dedicated to innovative diving equipment. In the same year, he created Easy Diver, a company for the management of diving centres that operated outside the I Viaggi del Ventaglio circuit, as well as a new clothing range called Diving Machine.
In 2001 he founded Mr. Diver, a project for the new millennium. This initiative was based on years of experience, and its purpose was to offer highly-qualified and well-organised dive centres with very professional diving instructors and people in charge. The centres are situated inside selected structures such as hotels, holiday resorts, villages that are located near tourist attractions or around marine reserves. The quality associated with the Mares brand name and the assistance they provide, as manufacturers and leaders in the diving equipment market, guarantee high-quality service as well as high-quality equipment. These are the aspects that he believes are essential to ensure that only the best instructors and managers are chosen and that they receive the best possible training.

Dives: only the best the area has to offer, chosen in accordance with the following criteria: spectacularity, safety, how easy the dive spots are to reach, and also taking into account the weather and sea conditions.
Overcrowding? NO THANKS! The number of divers per guide is always kept as low as possible. This means that when you’re underwater, even if you’re the last in the group you’ll be in the front row.
Maximum flexibility: if you arrive at our dive centres with your own group and you already have an instructor or an underwater guide with proven experience, or if you want your students to complete the course they began in the city, you will be able to use the ``GRUPPI SUB`` (DIVING GROUP) formula. This means that you will be able to dive without one of our guides, at your own pace and according to your own preferences. However, you will still be able to rely on Mr. Diver for logistics and for advice from our expert staff.
Some words about our cruise. Operating from Sharm el Sheik in the South Sinai region, the KING SNEFRO boat fleet has been offering diving cruises since 1986. Today, there are four luxury yachts that are waiting to take you to the Red Sea’s most famous diving points, such as the Tiran Straits, the Ras Mohammed marine park, the Dunraven and Thistlegorm wrecks, Abu Nuhas or others further south. The dives are spectacular: there are all types of fish, tortoises, dolphins, sharks, coloured corals, wrecks … you’ll be bale to find everything you’re looking for in the Red Sea.
All four boats operate with experience and professionalism in a friendly atmosphere with magical tones. All this is supported by a highly-motivated and skilled crew who have the best knowledge of the local currents and the most beautiful areas to dive. They will tell you when it is the best time to go for your unforgettable dives.
There will always be a Mr. Diver instructor on board to guarantee the high standard of service which you are used to. The instructor will accompany you in the water or he will be able to offer you underwater courses should you wish to make some progress in your diving career; there is however a free trial for all those who do not have certification.
