Tioman Dive Centre

(English)
Company description Welcome to Tioman Dive Centre. Make a stopover in Tioman Island, Malaysia, and get a little warm sand between your toes. Enjoy diving in clear blue waters over beautiful coral reefs teeming with marine life. Explore the rainforest and its wildlife - or just sit on the beach and soak up the sun! You will find that Tioman is a great place to unwind and relax. Tioman is perfect for both learning to dive (we offer a comprehensive range of PADI dive training courses) and diving for fun at over 20 dive sites. It is easy to get here from both mainland Malaysia and Singapore, with direct flights from both KL and Singapore. Or, you can travel overland by bus and then get a boat to the island. Tioman Dive Centre operates from Swiss Cottage resort in Tekek, the main village on Tioman. Located at the end of the beach, it is probably one of Tioman`s best kept secrets! Don`t believe everything you read in the guide books - Tekek remains remarkably uncommercialised! It has a variety of restaurants and accommodation to choose from. Try the Malaysian village experience. Safety is, of course, a primary concern, but your fun and enjoyment are also important. We maintain a friendly, informal atmosphere in our dive centre, and hope you will enjoy our hospitality. Our many repeat visitors are testament to the fact that we are doing something right! Find out more about Tioman Dive Centre here. The environment is a subject of increasing concern to many. We are committed to preserving our bit of it - and encourage others to do the same where possible. This is why we have decided to apply for Go ECO status under the PADI Project AWARE programme. As part of our obligations under this programme, we will be incorporating even more environmental awareness training into both our diver training programmes and our leisure diving activities. When we say ``don`t touch``, we mean it! Lack of cash for funding projects is a constant problem. So we have decided to set up our own fund, imaginatively named the ``Tioman Environment Fund``. Our objective is to create a small pool of cash which we can use to fund small projects in Tioman, mainly with the local school, where we are financing the Environmental Club. Starting in January 2006, we pledge to donate RM 10 per customer into this fund. Additional contributions are, of course, welcome. We will post details of the activities of the fund on this website (see our environment page for details) and will keep a public register of all contributions in the Dive Centre. New for 2006! Tioman Dive Centre is pleased to announce its` new Dive Master Intership Programme. Designed for those who want a head start in the professional levels of the dive industry, this programme will be offered to only six exceptional individuals a year, who show a high degree of commitment to quality training, environmental awareness and safety - key values for TDC. If you are interested in knowing more about this intensive programme, follow this link. We hope you enjoy browsing around the web site (comments welcomed!) and look forward to seeing you.
