Company description Dive Thailand web site was the FIRST web site devoted to Diving in Thailand. It appeared as early as 1994 in a text format tested using the LYNX World Wide Web browser. Later, advancements in technology like graphics (the map in the introduction), background images, and HTML tables provided by the Mosaic and Netscape 2.0 browsers were integrated (and after public graphical format (sLiRp) access came about in Thailand!). Except for recently adding frames, little more has changed (technically) since then. Years ago, Dive Thailand kept up to date with ALL links to Thailand diving one ever found searching the web. One cannot even contemplate such a feat now. A web search on ``scuba AND diving AND Thailand`` can yield thousands of results. Of course, back in `94 when Dive Thailand started, one wrote web pages with CONTENT for web browsers that displayed the content for you. Web browsers still just display content for you (much to the consternation of web page designers who want to position every element exactly as desired). But nowadays people look at you funny if your page isn`t part of the ``global shopping network``. Still, Dive Thailand remains noncommercial. Links to commercial sites are here because they are useful links to further information. I get no remuneration for these. But I might accept a thank you for linking your site, or an offer for a discount on my next dive trip, or a free pizza. Dive Thailand disappeared for about 9 months in 1998/1999, and has now been reconstructed. Dive Thailand may move around a bit, so join the mailing list. The author has been an sport diver in Thailand for more than seven years, logging over 100 dives.
