Company description The Sirena Diving Center Kas/Turkey is under leadership of the PADI (MSDT) & CMAS (CMAS**) scuba-diving instructor Hakan. Since 1995 we are showing our diving guests the most beautiful diving places in Kas and it`s sourrounding areas. The same way we always keep an familar-like, friendly athmosphere and give an individual service to every diving guest.
There is no ``diving mass-industry`` at SIRENA DIVING - Diving groups and courses are always done in small groups up to 4 persons maximum. No hectic, no stress - just relaxed diving.
Our diving boat ``Sirena`` always starts two times a day (morning and afternoon) to the popular divespots of the area. Non diving guests ( like your wife/friend/family) are welcome to join the boat trips for swimming & snorcling.
Needs and wishes of our diving guests have an high priority at SIRENA: All plans for daily diving activities are made according to the wishes of our customers.
Our Diving Center office ( opening times every day from 10.00 to 23.00 ) is an open place for all divers. Especially in the evening times we like to meet our customers here to serve an turkish tea. For theory parts of diving course we have an extra classroom with TV, video, books.
For those of you who want to learn diving and go for an international license, SIRENA offers professional training programs from absolute beginner up to semi-profesionall. courses are given in english, german and turkish language. Needed theory materials in those languages is available here.
For certified divers, that would like to increase their knowledge and performance, many speciality course are offered. Also DAN (= Divers Alert Ntwork) courses in medical first aid using oxygen are part of our training programs.
SIRENA DIVING is member of the ``Hyperox`` divers insurance that provides medical treatment for diving accidents. For a small fee, 100% insurance for all diving accidents & injuries ( decompression chamber treatment included ) can get bought for the durationof your vacation in Kas.
Safe, up to date and professional diving education has always been our great concern. The diving education is conducted according to PADI, CMAS & DAN standards. Our instructors are all certified, insured and registered as professional diving instructors.
For those guests who have never had the opportunity to breathe under water, we run trial dives twice a week from the beach. Under the supervision of a qualified instructor you can make your first experience in diving. If you get hooked, there is a wide range of courses to choose from.
“Hand in hand”-diving is a program that enables you to learn basic theory and skills necessary to do a boat-dive with a qualified instructor. Or you can enroll in a full open water diver or CMAS 1 Star course that the SIRENA Diving Center runs several times a week.
The course is structured in easy to understand modules. The first two days you spend with confined water training, and theory lessons in classroom. From the third day on you will be ready to dive from the boat on great divespots of Kas.
Generally it takes 5-7 days to complete a beginners course.
For qualified divers we run a wide range of continuous education on all levels and most of the specialty courses according to PADI, CMAS & VIT standards.
In the PADI system we offer courses from beginner ( Open Water Diver ) up to experienced levels like PADI Divemaster or Master Scuba Diver.
In the CMAS system we offer beginner courses, freediving courses and advanced training/certification up to CMAS Assistant Instructor.
The from all international diving associations ( starting with CMAS** or PADI Rescue Diver) highly recommended DAn course ``First Aid with Oxygen For Scuba Diving Injuries`` is also part of our training offers. DAN courses are given in english and german language.
Courses are organized in arrangement with your holiday program.
Location description: Kas today
Its quaint town center has a rocky waterfront, with several small beaches nearby. There are water sports available in the area, like canoeing, jet skiing, diving and paragliding.
There is a small harbor with fishing boats and daily boats for rent. Kas never became as popular as other areas because of its small pebble beaches, but this has saved the town from over development. Life centers on the town square where there are teahouses, restaurants, mosques and shops. Kas has a moderate amount of nightlife and many nice souvenir shops. There is a traditional market on Fridays.
The main activity in Kas is of course the scuba diving. Divers from allover the world come here to join the beautifull diving spots.
Climatic circumstances7weather in Kas/Turkey
Summers are hot and dry in Kas, quite typical of Mediterranean region, and can reach around 35 degrees during the day. Winters are warm during the day although can get cool at night, and can drop below 10 degrees. Most popular time to visit Kas is between middle of April and end of October.
Hotel
The Hotel Begonvil, which is a partner-hotel of SIRENA DIVING have 15 rooms, eqippet with air-condition, balkony, shower and a beautifull sea-view.
As it is usual in Kas, all rooms are inclusive breakfast. For family members under age of 8 a third bed can be placed in your room without extra charge.
the hotel owner speaks english and german and all our guests were always very happy with the friendly and small hotel and it`s warm service and guests-treatment.
From the Hotel Begonvil to Kas harbour ( location of our diving boat and center of the city the same way ) it needs around 5-8 minutes to walk. The SIRENA DIVING office is reachable with 4 minutes to walk. Everything in Kas is nearby, so you don`t need a car here.
Divers from outside Kas
If you stay for example in Kalkan and want to dive with us, we can organisate the transfer from Kalkan to Kas for you. You will get picked up in the morning and brought back in the evening without extra charge.
Further the boat is equipped with CB, radio, life-ests, oxygen & medical first aid kit and free rentable scuba and snorcling equipment.
Equipment of the boat in detail:
- 20 12l steal made tanks
- 20 complete scuba-diving equipments( Mares, Cressi & Scubapro )
- 20 diving masks, snorcels and 25 around paar pairs of flippers in several sizes
- 5,5 mm longjohn/west wet-suits in different sizes
- 3 mm shorties in several sizes
- 200 Kg weights in pieces of 2,4 and 6 pounds
- weightbelts in many various sizes;
For diving guets with own scuba-diving equipment, usefull boxes are provided to store your personal stuff. the boat is also inside the harbour under 24-hour protection by our stuff - all your personal gear is safe on the boat day and night and you don`t need to carry your stuff every day.
