Company description ASHI is a not-for-profit association of professional educators providing nationally recognized training programs across the United States and in several foreign countries. ASHI’s mission is to continually improve safety and health education by promoting high standards for members, principals of sound research for curriculum development and the professional development of safety and health instructors worldwide.

ASHI offers both Basic and Advanced Training Centers. Once approved, Basic Training Centers with ASHI Authorized Instructors or Instructor Trainers may offer basic level health and safety programs, for example; Basic First Aid for the Community and Workplaceâ„¢. Advanced Training Centers may offer BOTH basic and advanced level health and safety programs, for example; ASHI CPRPro for the Professional Rescuerâ„¢ and ASHI Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)â„¢.
Private, public, or non-profit companies, government agencies or organizations of any size may apply for ASHI Training Center approval.
There are no processing, application, or renewal fees to operate as an ASHI Training Center (TC). Fees charged by for participation in ASHI programs are at the discretion of the Training Center Director.
Membership as a Basic or Advanced Instructor or Instructor Trainer is $15.00 (US). Membership fees must be paid initially and upon reauthorization every three (3) years.
Location description: We provide a wide variety of educational programs including:
*ASHI ESSENTIALS In Basic Emergency Care
The Essentials program is designed to arm laypersons with the minimum knowledge and skills necessary to provide emergency care for injury or sudden illness during the brief interval between incident and EMS arrival.
*CPR and AED for the community and workplaceâ„¢
The goal of the CPR and AED for the community and workplaceâ„¢ is to provide individuals with the basic knowledge and skills necessary to provide effective basic life support in an emergency.
*CPR PRO â„¢ For the Professional Rescuer
The goal of the CPR PRO is to provide individuals with the basic knowledge and skills necessary to provide effective basic life support in an emergency.
*Automated External Defibrillation (AED)
Training includes recognition of unresponsive victims, review of equipment operation and maintenance, discussion of treatment and valuable hands-on practice designed to increase skills.
*ASHI ACLSâ„¢
The ASHI ACLSâ„¢ curriculum is approved for training of Emergency Medical Services personnel in most states, has been accredited by the Continuing Education Coordinating Board for Emergency Medical Services (CECBEMS) and is accepted by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT).
*First Responder
To provide students with the core knowledge, skills and attitudes to function in the capacity of a First Responder consistent with U.S National Standard Curriculum.
*Bloodborne Pathogens
This program includes information that will help students understand what bloodborne pathogens are and how risks of exposure can be reduced for themselves and others.
*Emergency Oxygen
This program focuses on administering emergency oxygen, rescue breathing and oxygen delivery devices.
*Childcare & Babysitting Safety (CABS)
The Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS) Program is a community education program that covers child safety and basic care techniques for infants and children.
*Pet First Aid
ASHI’s Pet First Aid Program provides Instructors with an Instructor guide, video, student books and a master wall certification of successful completion. This program provides information on caring for dogs and cats as well as guidance about when pets should be taken to the veterinarian for professional care.
*Wilderness Emergency Care (WEC)
The Wilderness Emergency Care (WEC) program supports a family of courses to meet the needs of everyone with outdoor interests, from easy day trips to challenging and technical activities, including wilderness rescue. All of the courses provide hands-on practical training, to prepare you for wilderness emergencies.
