Above And Below Abaco is a Full Service SCUBA Diving Center located in Marsh Harbour, Abaco, Bahamas. They provide scuba and snorkelling tours to the Reefs, Blue Hole Diving, Island Hopping, Inland Shoreline Snorkeling Adventures, Instruction, Rentals, and Air Fills. Their Dive Shop is located at Simmons Place in the center of the Marsh Harbour's tourist area.Their 31 ft. Hydrocat Dive Boat, Mystical Lady, is located nearby at Mangoes Marina.
Above and Below Abaco is dedicated to providing the highest quality customer services. Guests can enjoy their "no rush", "no work", policy where staff members take care of the gear including loading it on the boat, assembling the gear on a tank, putting soft weights in weight pockets or belts for guests, changing the gear to a full tank between dives, and washing, drying, and storing the gear safely between diving days. When guests return for their next day of diving they find their gear assembled on a tank ready to go. Between dives guests are served refreshments such as cheese, crackers, and fruit. Bottled water is provided throughout the diving day.
Above And Below Abaco specialize in small groups. Although licensed for 12 divers and 2 crew members they limit the number of SCUBA Divers to 6 and always have 2 crew members on their sleek 31 ft. Hydrocat Dive Boat.
The boat cruises at 26 knots and provides a smooth comfortable ride to the reefs which takes about 15 minutes. Between dives guests have plenty of space to stretch out and enjoy the magnificent views. A fresh water shower and SIRIUS Satellite Radio add to their enjoyment during these relaxed surface intervals.
Staff members at Above And Below Abaco are dedicated to making their guests diving experience one of the best ever. One staff member is always on the surface while divers are underwater.Their Dive Master accompanies divers underwater so they get to see the most spectacular parts of the reef. After a 30 minute tour divers are free to stay with their buddy and continue their dive as long as they stay within no decompression limits and are back on the boat with 500 psi of air in their tanks. The tanks used on their boat are the standard 80 cu. ft. tanks.
The Dive Boat is fully equipped with all emergency equipment including a Dan O2 Kit, AED and Fist Aid Kit. All staff members are professional, highly-trained NAUI Dive Masters and NAUI Instructors and hold advanced Rescue Certifications which includes training in the use of the DAN Oxygen and the AED.
A Resort Course is available for guests who do not have time to become certified divers but would like to dive the reefs during their stay. The Resort Course includes 2 hours of classroom and pool instruction. Guests learn the basic SCUBA Diving skills and get comfortable with the equipment. The course includes 2 dives on shallow reefs the next day where they are accompanied by an instructor. A CD with photos of the guests underwater is included. Guests who would like to continue their training can go on to become fully Certified Divers.
Many other SCUBA Certification Courses are available as well. Some of these are NAUI Advanced, Master Diver and Dive Master. Specialty Courses are also available. Classes are private and are scheduled according to the available time of both the Instructor and the Student.
