Their guest relations departments can offer you the utmost in assistance so you may maximize your vacation. In addition to scheduling your diving activities they can suggest a wide variety of day excursions to satisfy even the most adventurous soul.
Diving in Belize is an exceptional experience. With the longest barrier reef in the Western Hemisphere (185 kilometers), over 460 species of fish, and huge formations of coral, the Belize coastal zone is ranked as one of the seven underwater wonders of the world.
Hugh Parkey`s Belize Dive Connection boasts one of the most professional dive boat ``fleets`` in Belize. Our fleet consists of three boats each one perfectly suited to the various needs of our customer. This variety of size makes it very easy for us to connect our customer to the boat best suited for their activity.
The star of our fleet is the ``Papa Joe``, a Pro 48 by Custom Dive Boats. This vessel is state of the art in terms of equipment and capabilities. The 48-foot length coupled with the 16-foot beam make the ``Papa Joe`` a completely stable platform from which to conduct diving activities. Powered by twin 420 HP Caterpillar diesel engines and cruising at 25 miles per hour, means speedy transport to your favorite dive sites. The amenities are all there for comfort: tanks racks, large benches, full stand up head, large dive platform with two in-water ladders for ease of entering and exiting the water, large console table for cameras, covered cabin area, and a carpeted upper station area capable of seating twelve are just a few of those amenities. In addition, a full complement of navigational and safety equipment including compass, cell phone, GPS, marine radio, first-aid kit, life jackets, and oxygen are on board. The size of the ``Papa Joe`` makes it ideal for those larger groups and for days when the weather is somewhat questionable.
Cruising at 23 miles per hour makes the ``Susie Q`` ideal for all types of diving and snorkeling activities to the Barrier Reef and Turneffe Atoll. It is perfectly suited for smaller groups of divers and larger groups of snorkelers. Amenities include extra large padded seats, large dive platform, marine head, and a convertible top for shade. Safety and navigational equipment on the ``Susie Q`` include compass, GPS, cell phone, marine radio, first-aid kit, life jackets, and oxygen.
The ``Miss T`` is perfect for activities such as smaller, intimate snorkeling groups to the Barrier Reef islands, manatee encounters, and jungle river tours. The quiet engine allows for close approaches to local wildlife and definitely enhances the excitement. Features include bimini top, bench seating, shallow draft for step ashore excursions to the Barrier Reef islands, ladder for ease of exiting the water, cell phone, life jackets, and first-aid kit.

Let us customize your vacation when you ``make the connection``.
Connecting is done at either the Radisson Fort George Hotel or Fort Street Restaurant and Guest House. These two fine properties only a few blocks apart offer accommodations, service, and cuisine that is truly special. Recently undergoing a multi-million dollar renovation has made the Radisson Fort George the premier hotel in Belize. Luxuriously furnished rooms with air conditioning, cable television, mini-bars, pools, and a business center, make the Radisson Fort George Hotel the choice for those seeking optimum comfort. Their guest services staff are prepared to make certain that you know the ``path for the reef, ruins, and rain forest runs through their lobby.``
Fort Street Restaurant and Guest House offers a taste of another era to the visitor to Belize. This three story colonial style house was the home to one of Belize`s first doctors. At present, it is home to one of the finest restaurants the country of Belize has to offer. Seating for 50 persons insures that you will not be lost in the crowd, but remember that reservations are nearly always in order. The six guest rooms located on the third floor offer comfortable queen-size, pencil-post mahogany beds in individual rooms cooled by sea breeze and ceiling fans. The large wicker furnished sitting room provides a great place to relax and discuss the days activities while sipping some refreshment and planning the next days activities.
