The typical sizes of the trips are between 6-10 people. . Your diving holiday in Belize will not disappoint – the diving is fantastic and there are no other dive boats! You can dive, snorkel, canoe, fish or sunbath during the day and watch the stars or chill out on the veranda at night. You can dive new areas, the dives are relaxed and there are very rarely any other divers in the area. None of the ‘factory' rushed dives that are so often part of diving with organisations that choose the dive sites depending upon their guests diving abilities….you choose.
The diving is structured but extremely relaxed and not regimented. It is safe, non challenging diving in the Caribbean which does not have strong currents and visibility ranges from 15-40 metres.
Hunting Caye island is a true 'castaway' coral caye island – accommodation and facilities are rustic with a few home comforts thrown in! There are no mobile phones, televisions or internet on the island. We have solar power and all rooms have fans that can operate throughout the nightAccommodation is in a brand new building that was built for the University of Belize, donated by a private individual for education and research. The rooms are either doubles or dorms (no more than 4 to a dorm) Camping with all facilities is available. In addition, there are at least 4-5 ReefCI staff members who are responsible for the diving and dive training, the research, running the island and the cooking. The staff work alongside Belizean scientists and we also employ Belizean people as Dive Masters and Boat Skippers.
