Company description Yucatek Divers is a full service dive center. Our international instructors also act as dive guides. We love what we do; we do what we love! Our open water training program for people with disabilities is taught with a high margin of safety, because we use teaching techniques developed from over 20 years of continuous research and feedback. Handicapped students are trained and certified according to HSA Physical Performance Standards. The multilevel certification system, exacting and sensitive, enables us to train people with a wide range of disabilities, including paraplegia and quadriplegia. Even the blind and those with high-functioning brain injuries or mild retardation can enjoy the wonders of the underwater world.
At Yucatek Divers we offer PADI sanctioned courses. PADI is the world`s most recognized diver certification agency. The PADI card is accepted world-wide for scuba tours, gear rental and tank refills.
Our team is comprised of international dive professionals using state-of-the-art equipment. We offer all courses in English, German, French and Spanish.
We offer all inclusive snorkel tours in the crystal clear water, with fruit and refreshments on a virgin beach.....
Location description: In Playa del Carmen you will enjoy Caribbean diving on colorful reefs with schools of fish as well as wrecks. We specialize in small groups and offer diving the way you like it. Our boats get you out on the reef quickly to do two dives comfortably in the morning and have the afternoon free to relax or prepare for your night dive.
The main attraction for scuba divers visiting the Yucatan is the largest underground river system in the world, the ``d’zenots`` in Maya, ``cenotes`` in Spanish. Centuries ago, rain water on its way to the Caribbean Sea formed cavities in the limestone of the Yucatan peninsula by hollowing out caves, creating fantastic formations. When parts of the caves grew too large, the cave ceiling fell in and cenotes and sinkholes were formed.
The cenotes, which are distributed in the jungle like pearls, are the door to an incredible underwater world, providing the best cave and cavern diving imaginable. With water as clear as air the visibility is unbelievable as the diver glides through a color-filled fantasy world. The beautiful cave formations like stalactites, stalagmites, sodastraws and columns make for an incredible dive. The very gentle current and mild water temperature (about 75 Ñ” F / 24 Ñ” C) is the perfect underwater environment for divers of all experience levels and offers endless opportunity for spectacular underwater photography. Yucatek Divers provides the highest quality equipment and professional training required to ensure the ultimate diving experience.
