Company description
Garrard Underwater Educators & Technical Dive Center is a PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Center and conducts classes leading to all levels of recreational and professional certification through Master Scuba Diver, Open Water Instructor and Master Scuba Diver Trainer. As Instructor trainers, we are very thorough in all of our certification programs and offer a wide variety of courses to meet all interests. We are a training facility for American Nitrox Divers, International and are certified by the Divers Alert Network to conduct courses in Oxygen Administration in Diving Accidents.
Our facilities are state of the art. We continually invest in the latest technologies and develop new programs to meet the interests of all divers, from the beginner to the most advanced. With our dedicated compressor, we can supply properly certified, advanced divers with Enriched Air Nitrox, Oxygen and Tri-Mix and are the only facility in Georgia with two on-site hyperbaric chambers used for certain training programs, commercial diving support and to respond in the event of a diving emergency.
As a PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Center, our air is analyzed at least quarterly , with test results submitted to PADI headquarters. All air fills meet or exceed the Compresses Gas Association Standards for Scuba Diving Air, Table 1, Level E.
Remember, a good diver is always training.
Join one of the following classes
Quick Start Open Water
Scuba training allows you to experience the underwater world at a very personal level. For probably the first time, you will be able to swim with large schools of fish, interact with a friendly and curious grouper, watch fascinating courtship rituals, and explore historic shipwrecks on the beautiful coral reefs of Florida and the nearby Caribbean.
Our Dive Center`s most popular program! This class meets Friday evening from 6:00-9:00, and Saturday and Sunday from 8:00-4:00. Typically, a person needs one week to prepare and needs to sign up by the Wednesday prior.
Specialties
Once you`ve earned your Open Water certification, you enter an exciting new world of adventure. We are here to help you with all of the training you will need to get the most enjoyment out of your diving experience. Through specialty classes such as Nitrox, Underwater Photographer, Manatee Awareness, Night Diver, and many more, you will gain the knowledge and skills needed to follow your unique interests and curiosities.
With proper training, your awareness of your surroundings will become more apparent. Night Divers are rewarded with a view into the nocturnal world of the coral reef, when corals ``come alive`` to feed. Underwater photographers will be more aware of their surroundings looking for that ``special`` photograph to show the folks back home (or win a photography contest).
Advanced Open Water
As an experienced diver, you`ve probably discovered that diving is more than an end in itself; for most of us, it`s a vehicle to a wide variety of activities and interests.
As divers gain experience they often discover that they are drawn to certain underwater activities such as night diving, deep diving, or photography, but lack the technical skills needed to fully enjoy these interests. The Advanced Open Water Diver course is designed to help you develop these necessary skills while making all of your diving safer and more enjoyable. It is structured to allow you to choose among the areas of diving that interest you the most and make these part of your course.
Medic First Aid (Starts Weekly)
The Medic First Aid course, which trains you in first aid and CPR, is an important primer for the PADI Rescue Diver course. As you learn accident management, you`ll learn to apply your first aid/CPR skills to the unique needs of diving. By the time you finish the PADI Rescue Diver course, you`ll be a qualified first-responder whether an accident occurs in or out of the water.
