Company description Welcome to the National Diving &
Activity Centre. Based near Chepstow we offer excellent inland diving facilities and an exciting range of activities.
If you have never dived before and fancy learning, why not try our Discover Scuba Diving Course or carry out a “Try Dive” in our heated training tank.
We invite divers, clubs and instructors to visit our quarry and see for yourselves our excellent facilities and welcome enquiries for PADI & TDI training courses and from clubs or groups to book for night dives.
For all those wishing to extend their diving knowledge and skills come and talk to our highly experienced TDI Instructors.
The facilities at the National Diving and Activity Centre are large enough to cope with the highest demand - the pontoon on our inland dive site is 144 metres long!

All the staff at the shop in the National Diving & Activity Centre in Chepstow have a background that is firmly rooted in diving, all are professional and/or recreational divers of varying levels, with years of experience of actually using diving equipment, we can genuinely advise, and where necessary, assist you in your choice of equipment. The centre does not employ salesmen to talk to divers, we only employ divers.
The shop has some of the most advanced gas mixing equipment available in the sports diving market, with the centre able to pump, via Haskel boosters, a range of gasses from argon, nitrox, oxygen and trimix to 300 bar. If we are not too busy we will pump all gasses while you wait, and if we are busy, we have over 100,000 litres of double filtered air stored in banks, which means less queuing for you, the customer. Our gas prices are very competitive and accurate mixes are guaranteed.
We have fitted the shop with a helium analyser so you no-longer have to dump the valuable helium based gas in your cylinders in order to allow someone else to ``partial pressure cascade``. We don`t have to mathematically work out your helium and oxygen mixes. We have two oxygen analysers on-line at any one time, and trimix and heliair are physically analysed to +/- 1% accuracy.
The centre has a new Hamworthy Premiair compressor with twelve air charging outlets, and a separate three outlet nitrox panel, again making gas fills as quickly as possible.
All in all, we offer the customer a good package. We know it is inevitable that we will not be the cheapest, but we will offer a complete service from start to finish. When you buy from us, you are not just buying a product at the rock-bottom price, but a piece of diving equipment that your life may depend on. Think it through, if you paid next to nothing for something, how much money is in the kitty for warranty work? Next time you`re hunting down all the big e-mail warehouses, ask them where you should get your gas from?

Location description: The National Diving & Activity Centre is proud to announce that a master plan document and outline planning application has now been lodged with The Forest of Dean District Council Planning Department.


The short to medium term plan is for the centre obviously involves a large financial investment, which, with consultation with the local planning authority, is scheduled to take upto a period of five years to potentially complete. Initially we are looking towards an outline planning application that will allow the site to develop a 122-bed hotel on site, Numerous Diving Lodges and Bunkhouse Accommodation and a complete new Modern Facilities Building.
We will be looking at bringing on the facilities building in the short term development of the site, which will include doubling the size of the shop, a shower block, classrooms, extended catering facilities and an upstairs viewing area looking over the side of the quarry. The images show views of the proposed facilities building.
We are going to work on the initial phases of construction of the site into what will probably become one of the foremost inland diving centres in Europe, and certainly in the U.K. as it has a range of depths from 0-9, 9-18, 26, 45, 50 and 80 metres, all of which are be marked with buoys and trapeze where appropriate and necessary.
We have conducted market research into your likes and dislikes, and arranged the centre`s facilities to make life for you as easy as possible. The water`s edge can be reached by walking, or using the two courtesy vehicles that will take you and your kit from the parking areas to the pontoons every 20 minutes or so.
The water is accessed by 144 metres of pontoons with kit trolleys available, and configured to give maximum access and exit points, and the least amount of swimming!
As you would expect, the centre has full rescue facilities such a rescue boat, first aid equipment, portable oxygen equipment and fully trained staff. The centre has classrooms for instructor and club use, training tank, shop, a brand new state of the art gas room, hire equipment, cafe, changing rooms and toilets, etc.
