Company description Nerus – Centro Náutico, Lda was created with the purpose of providing a safe, exciting and ecologically friendly way of appreciating our world’s best: the Sea. In order to achieve this purpose, all our efforts are put into assuring you enjoy our personalized customer service. In my name and in the name of all those that share this purpose here at Nerus, be most welcome.
All our courses are certified by PADI , the largest scuba diving organization in the world.
Our emergency response and our diving courses are taught to a maximum of 12 and 6 students respectively under the strictest quality control and safety, with constant direct supervision of a PADI instructor and/or Divemaster.
*Discover Scuba Diving – the first contact with recreational scuba diving in a swimming-pool and in controlled sea conditions.
*Scuba Diver – introductory course to recreational diving. You’ll be able to dive till 12m depth accompanied by a PADI instructor or divemaster.
*Open Water Diver – the first level in independent scuba diving.
*Advanced Open Water Diver – develop your skills and discover new diving areas.
We’re authorized dealers of the following manufacturers: TUSA, Beuchat and Subacqua. Besides selling your gear, we provide all the necessary maintenance..
We also operate in the following areas:
• General underwater repairs
• Boat inspection and small repairs
• Photography and Videography
• Scientific diving (Biology and Archeology)
• Boat Sinking
Location description: Diving in the Azores is getting in touch with an unique underwater reality. The distance that goes from the Azores to both American and European continents associated to the volcanic origin makes these islands very particular ecosystems. From volcanic bottoms to oceanic blues, natural reefs and wrecks, the diver discovers how typical coastal species of Macaronesian islands live along with pelagic species that pass by our islands making the best of oceanic currents. From these latter, the Gulf Stream is the most notorious, being responsible for our warm waters from June till November.
So that you better enjoy each single dive, you’ll dive in a small group (up to 6 people) along with a marine biologist, who will make your dive a truly fulfilling personal discovery.
