Company description We invite you to stunning dives!
All dives are with a qualified instructor at no extra cost.
Dive Hire continues to contribute to Gibraltar`s ever growing man made reef.
Recommended to bring with you, 28mm (20mm) and of course fish eye if you can, for that in wreck shot, but what ever happens don`t forget, the macro lenses or extension tubes for the possible twenty two different nudibranch`s. With bottom times pleasantly attained of 40 mins plus, you have the time, no one will be hurrying in our temperate sea of 15 to 22 degs. We Recommend Semi dry`s April to mid October, you can comfortably dive dry if you wish from mid October to march, after that it starts to get a tad warm for you !?
The dives take place from our 10mtr hard boat, we know you will find it very roomy, opportunities for boat handling skills can be taken advantage of, for those with or without experience. (no charge) Ultimately what might I see, I hear you ask, here`s but a few. Octopus common and lesser, Squid, Cuttlefish, Grouper three species, Conger, Moray, Trigger fish, Ray`s, the list just goes on. Dive Hire will tend to your diving requirements with a shop fully stocked, with work shop facilities for those unplanned mishaps. So if you`re looking for that long weekend, or just that holiday away, we can cater to your needs.

Location description: In the Bay and Straits of Gibraltar You will find a multitude of choices for the diver, catering for all tastes and levels of experience, be it wrecks reefs or just scenic. Depths start, at just 4 mtrs and continue on down till it gets out of reach.
Something for everyone wreck wise. There are umpteen wrecks of different shapes and sizes, again to cater to the individual`s needs, surveys with no penetration at 8mtrs, wreck penetration starts in 17mtrs to our deepest at 27mtrs. NOTE, we have no heaps of steel or iron plate all wrecks stand proud of the seabed.
DiveHire 1st top sites:
*Bottle grot Site - 5-25m
For hundreds of years ships have been anchoring in the shallow sheltered water on the western side of ``The Rock`` next to the runway. Good for a quick splash to sort you`re your lead out, and of course the possibilities to find some cracking bits and pieces.
*Pilot Boat - 32m
Now quite broke up this is not dived often these days due to a major increase in commercial traffic in and out of Gibraltar`s harbour. With no set times for entry or departure this dive can be a worry.
*Mount Olivet - 22-28m
Known locally as the inner and outer, this steel clad steamer broke into two after several attempts to lift it.
The above info is still after all these years being contested as to what it is or isn`t by local divers and alike.
All I am going to tell you is it`s a cracking good dive and it is also John Dory territory.
*S.S. Excellent - 30m
This steel clad steamer sank after a collision in 1888. Lying upside down, she has three access points, stern midship`s and bow The iron prop lies on the seabed off the stern and this the one that help gib get the rating as one of the top 40 sites world wide.
*Cannon Pile - 27m
A large collection of steel cannon believed to have come from a Spanish siege barge.
Surveyed originally by Eric Shaw of the helping hand back in the early 70`s.
*Italian Chariot - 33m
There isn`t much left of this chariot after it was mistaken for a torpedo and blown up. (Really) it wouldn`t do for they`re to three of these for people to see. It is believed to have been the chariot that broke down on ``Buster`` Crabb.
*Mui - 35m
Wreck. Breaking up but with plenty of life. Placed there by Rock Marine. The is great to come across on a northerly drift dive. This is also John Dory area
*Helen - 21m
Spanish fishing vessel that is every divers idea of what a wreck looks like, she sits on her keel with easy access to the wheelhouse. Excellent photo opportunity.
Placed there by Rock Marine.
*Fishing Boat - 36m
Not a great deal to be seen here or at least not last time we visited on a zooming drift dive.
*S.S. Rosslyn - 24m
If you wish this can be made into a very scenic wreck dive. Lying at the bottom of the South Mole, north south she is slowly opening up but very recognisable as a ship. Excellent for photography.
