Company description The aim of Cetaria Diving Center is to protect the submerged environmental and archaeological heritage. All this thanks also to campaigns to increase people awarness and sense of social responsibility.
The diving is limited to a few scuba-divers in order to assure assistance and safety .
Furthermore it is possible to go diving singularly in order to satisfy a great deal of different needs (photos, videos, research, unexperienced divers, revision check).
Cetaria : safety, professionalism, a wonderful experience that teaches you to enjoy and respect the nature at the same time.
The instructors and the guides of Cetaria Diving Center, with experience and knowledge of the places, they operate in simple way, sure, coinvolgente and in the full respect of the nature. The diving wantedly entertains a limited number of scuba divers in the immersions to guarantee assistance and safety.

Location description: Our diving centre, thanks to the experience of its team, and to the knowledge of the place, selects the most interesting diving spots of the coast, such as: The Capua Wreckage, armed ship sunk during World war II; The Kent Wreckage, also known as the Koran ship, sunk in 1973; The Ficarella Cave, which entrance is 14 Mt deep, and beyond which a wide passage goes up to the surface, bringing the divers above the sea-level in a big cave which vault is rich in stalactites and calcareous incrustations; The Lion’s Cave or Shrimps Cave, made of three wide rooms and two entrances, one of them on the surface, which allows a confortable and easy visit.

The “Impisu” Wall, The Lion’s Spot, Under the Gallery, and also, The Red Wall (Devils’chase), The “Orlo dell’Uzzo”, and “The Faraglioni” are only some of the spots worth visiting in Scopello.

The wreckage of the Capua, an armed ship sank during World War II, lies on a sounding depth of about 40 Mt, a few hundred miles from the coast. It is in a good state and its shape can already be seen going down only a few Mt. It lies on the bottom as if it were still sailing. The fauna is very rich. We start our dive going down along the reference line put at prow of the wreckage, in the deepest spot, about 28 Mt. Going down it is possible to see a shoal of fishes turning around us curiously. At a depth of 20 Mt. Underneath we can clearly see the main deck, the chimney and the open tank. Passing through a big shoal of ``Anthias`` we catch a glimpse of some boxes of ammunitions piled up in a peak, one of them is half open and it lets us catch a glimpse of its content; a treasure protected by a moray that made it its house. From the dark gorges of the tank we can see the lobsters`antennae and the ``Corvine`` with their elegant movements seem dancing, once enlightened by our lights. Under the keel, 39 Mt. deep, scorpion fishes, red mullets, a big conger and other fishes find refuge. Along the bulkheads covered with sponges, ``Astroides``, sea daisies, yellow ``Gorgonie`` and other marine plants, colonies of fishes (Castagnole, Salpe, Occhiate) swim happily.
The entrance of Ficarella Submarine Cave is 14 Mt. deep and, a wide passage goes up to the surface to this big cave which vault is rich in stalactites and calcareous incrustations. It is an enchanting natural scenery in which there is a perennial presence of ``Corvine``. We start our dive on an underwater landslide about 12-15 Mt. deep. Among the rocks, in the blue, we see: sea anemones, sea urchins, starfishes, and some shoals of fishes. A spring of fresh-water pours into the cave creating a particular optical effect due to the mix with the marine water. Pointing our lights toward the surface, we notice some rocks which seem floating on the water. It is the air bubble above the sea level. A ``chamber`` about 20 Mt. wide, completely in the dark, which vault is rich in stalactites and calcareous incrustations extremely rare and of particular scientific interest.
