Professional Diving School Association Malta

Associations Organisation Scuba Diving (English)

Service:
Company description What you have at your disposal is a quick and easy way to access a directory of member schools, secure in the knowledge that all schools listed are licensed members of the PDSA Malta.
The PDSA was originally formed in 1982 in order to represent the interests of the diving community in Malta. Its aim was to liaise with the Maltese government and its various departments, on all matters connected with scuba diving, presenting a common and coherent view point. The various schools that go to make up the PDSA are owned by people who have a genuine concern for issues such as diver safety, diver education and the environment; all areas that require constant monitoring.
From its inception, the PDSA has increased in size from a handful of centres to well over 30, distributed throughout the Maltese Islands. The centres range in size from small to large and continue to increase in number each season. The Maltese government realizing the increasing importance of diving tourism to the Islands, is now taking a pro-active role in the promotion of the industry through the MTA. The PDSA is also very actively involved when it comes to relaying the needs of the divers that visit our shores to the necessary government departments and liaising with government representatives in a effort to keep them informed and up to date with the fast changing face of sport diving.
Membership is open to all licensed centres, which meet the high standards of safety and professionalism, now expected throughout the diving world. Those centres which cannot or will not make this commitment are not allowed to become members of the PDSA.
Being a member does not exempt anyone from criticism and with this in mind we have provided a comments page, through which you can present the PDSA committee with your feedback (good or bad) relating to any of the association members, so that your comments can be investigated and any necessary action can be taken. You will be asked to provide your name and the name of the centre, as well as the date of your visit. Any anonymous letters will not be taken seriously.
Although the organization is made up highly competitive, individual businesses, its success reflects the level of commitment from its members, where personal gain is put to one side in the pursuit of a common way forward. This has resulted in a healthy industry that continues to offer some of the best sport diving and training in the world.
On our website you can find information about every diving school of Malta.
Location description: Malta and it`s sister Island of Gozo offer you the chance to dive year round in what can only be described as the most desirable conditions for divers of all levels. Around our shores which are famous for the excellent visibility and come hither water temperatures can be found wrecks, reefs, caverns, and walls ranging from just a few meters for the beginner through to more challenging depths for the intermediate diver and for those who consider themselves to advanced to find excitement here we invite you to come and allow us to change your mind. Many of the dive sites around the Islands are accessible from shore which is idealfor those divers who for whatever reason prefer to be land based but there arealso some world class sites that are only attainable by boat so variety is the name of the game. Finally with regards to accessibility Malta`s shores are tideless which takes the headache out of dive planning and allows for tremendous flexibility in terms of what time of day you would like to dive.
