Company description We would like to welcome you to our PADI 5 Star IDC Dive Center. Buddies is the premier centre for scuba diving in Malta, Gozo and Comino.
Buddies is a family run dive school & shop on the northern coast of Malta, with the islands of Gozo and Comino just minutes away by boat. Together with our team of highly qualified Padi Instructors we pride ourselves in giving you our personal attention to ensure that your scuba diving Malta experience is a total success.
Whether you are interested in a Discover Scuba Diving session, joining one of our Padi Open Water Diver courses or becoming a Padi Open Water Scuba Instructor, you are assured that we will meet your expectations while maintaining the highest possible standards of diver safety and education.
The team of dive instructors who work with us are recruited to reflect Buddies Dive Cove`s philosophy of diver safety, service and local experience. This is just one aspect of what makes Buddies Dive Cove the very best of the top dive schools in Malta.
Our air conditioned dive center has been carefully and strategically chosen and designed for divers to have access to the best dive sites of all three islands at reasonable cost. The dive center is open 7 days a week, all year round.
If you just want to dive the jewel of the Mediterranean on your vacation in Malta, we run daily boat and shore dives around the three islands. While we are taking care of all the logistics, you can go ahead and enjoy wrecks, caverns, reefs and the spectacular underwater landscape that the Maltese islands are famous for. For the more Technical-Diving minded, we offer internationally recognised tek diver training and Nitrox / Trimix facilities.
We run a number of introductory, advanced and specialty Padi courses all year round. The courses are scheduled with the participants of the course so that the days and times set up are convenient for everyone.
For qualified divers who wish to have a dive guide escort them on local dives and take care of the logistics of the dives, we run 2 tank dives(morning) as well as single tank (morning / afternoon) dives. Divers from all training agencies and certification levels are welcome.
Divers who wish to dive in a group in Malta and Gozo without being guided underwater by one of our instructors must be qualified to PADI Advanced Open Water or similar. Organised diving is mainly designed for groups of divers travelling together.
Buddies Dive Cove - Malta is fully equipped with the latest diving equipment available on the market including Dive Propulsion Vehicles for hire. We are one of the few dive centers in Malta and Gozo able to fill air to 300 bar as well as supply Nitrox and Trimix qualified divers with Nitrox fills (28% to 100%) and Trimix fills on site.
We use two airconditioned dive trucks and a minibus to transport divers and equipment to the dive site of the day and back to the dive center. We also offer free transport to the dive center from anywhere in Malta so long as the divers are following a course with us or are diving twice daily with us. We also charter a number of different dive boats depending on our destination.
Location description: Excellent underwater visibility as well as warm and current free waters both in Summer (average 26 degrees Celsius) and in Winter (average 15 degrees Celsius), ensure that Malta diving is an activity that can be carried out any time of the year.
Due to the geographical structure of the islands, it is possible to safely train novice divers in the sea from day one. These student divers are given the possibility to enjoy the world underwater as they train to reach the qualification they desire.
For certified divers there are a range of dive sites including wrecks, caves and reefs in shallow waters. The dive sites on this page come with maximum and average depths to be found on the sites. However, there are several sites where, although the maximum depths exceed 15 - 20 metres, we have listed them as being also suitable for novice divers, or recently certified divers with little diving experience. This is because the underwater landscape allows us to easily limit the maximum depth of the dive to shallower depths.
We organize daily shore and boat dives around Malta, Comino (boat only) and Gozo. The dive sites are selected on the day according to the wind and sea conditions, divers` experience and special interests.
As a rule, small groups of qualified divers (at least Padi Scuba Diver rating or similar) are escorted by one of our instructors throughout the dive. Where ever possible, divers are split into different groups according to experience and training. This is the best way to ensure that you enjoy the best dive sites of the islands as logistics for the dives are handled by experienced instructors.
