Company description For over two years Dawn Dives has been introducing divers to Malta. The Maltese islands being in the center of the Mediterranean, offer fantastic historic sites, sandy beaches but most importantly some of the best dive sites and underwater life in the Mediterranean.
Dawn Dives, locally owned and operated can be found on the northern coast of Malta. Just minutes away, by boat, to the smaller islands of Gozo and Comino. Dawn Dives takes great pride in being able to show you the natural wonders that live in our waters. Innovative and positive instructors ensure professionalism and safety on all of our dive excursions.
Dawn Dives aim is to share with others, the delights and excitement that the underwater world of the Maltese islands has to offer. We run daily boat and shore dives around the three islands. So come and enjoy spectacular underwater landscapes that the Maltese islands are famous for.
As a PADI 5 star training facility, Dawn Dives offers the full range of PADI courses from Open Water to Instructor. We specialize in small, personal groups, ensuring maximum attention is given to student training, skill development and diver safety.
We offer the latest in dive equipment, technology and expert instruction from multi lingual Dive Instructors. Materials are available in English, German, Dutch, French and Italian. Diving and dive courses commence any day of the year to suit the convenience of the diver.

Dawn Dives offers shore and boat diving in Malta, Gozo and Comino every day of the week. Diving sites are chosen on the day depending on weather and sea conditions to suit all levels of diving experience and to accommodate even the novice or diver in training.
For diving, the strong topographic structures of Malta, Gozo and Comino continue beneath the surface. So the diving landscape is both spectacular and bizarre. Malta, with it`s many caves, some large enough for buses to pass through, grotto`s, crevices and undulating reefs with their magnificent drop- offs make perfect homes for many different species of fish and marine life for the diver to explore.
Location description: The scuba diving paradise of Malta is an island in the centre of the Mediterranean. The three islands of Malta, Gozo and Comino are a scuba diving dream for both divers and snorklers. Malta’s scuba diving reputation is outstanding. This has made Malta one of the most popular destinations for scuba diving in the world.
Diving in Malta is possible all year round. It is also suitable for divers with any level of experience. Malta’s water temperatures, reach 26 degrees Celsius for summer diving and go down to a minimum of 13 degrees Celsius for diving in winter. Underwater visibility is an average of 30 metres plus per day. Malta also holds the reputation of having some of the cleanest waters for diving in the Mediterranean. Being an island, if the seas are rough, which is very rarely, there is always a sheltered cove somewhere accessible to divers.
If diving wrecks is your thing, there are many different sites in Malta, some of them dating back to WW1. These are suitable for all levels of diving experience as they are in depth ranges from 14 meters and go to 60 meters. Or you can just enjoy diving the shallower reefs, different rock formations, abundance of marine life and swim throughs that the clear water of Malta has to offer.
If you are new to diving, the student diver in training can be guaranteed to be in the water from day one as Malta offers perfectly safe conditions, giving you the real experience of the under water world.
Some of our favorite dive sites:
*Blenheim Bomber
A boat dive. This is a wreck of a WW2 Plane and it is found approximately 800m due east of Xorob il-Ghajn at a depth of 42m. Therefore only for the experienced diver. The wings and engines are virtually intact although the port side propellers are missing. The cockpit cover has also disappeared and this might suggest the crew safely ejected prior to ditching. The pilot`s seat and control column are quite intact and altogether these form the main section of the wreckage. On the whole this wreck is still well preserved.
*Cominotto Reef
A boat dive. Off the north west corner of Comino, an exposed site, subject to surge and current. This is a wall dive consisting of massive boulders, which beneath are full of holes and caverns, making a perfect hide out for creatures like burrowing anemones and peacock worms.
*HMS Stubborn
A boat dive. The royal S class Submarine that lies at 50 meters on a sandy bottom 3 miles off the East coast of Malta. This is a boat dive for the experienced diver that is trained to go below 50 meters. The visibility is a good 30 meters plus and the fish life is in abundance. A fairly large resident tuna lives right under the coning tower. The wreck is fully in tact.
*Imperial Eagle
This wreck was scuttled as a marine attraction in 1999. It was the old passenger ferry that sailed between Malta and Gozo. She has come to rest in an upright position lying at an approximate depth of 38 meters. An excellent dive, for the experienced diver only.
