Company description Divewise has provided top quality Diving holidays in Malta for many years. Our company operates a very neat SCUBA diving school in Malta within The Westin Dragonara Complex - Malta`s most prestigious area, we have a distinct advantage of enjoying a water front location and various pools where most of our training dives takes place.
English speaking Malta is a great place for a diving holiday; being central Mediterranean the climate is pleasant. The sea is warm and clear, allowing for a great choice of diving locations. Being a small archipelago of three main islands, Malta, Comino and Gozo, these locations are available to be dived when fancy takes you. Fortunately we do not suffer from earthquakes, volcanoes, hurricanes, avalanches (snow or mud) civil war and other inconveniences of the sort, we don`t even have strong sea currents! During the winter months wind direction dictates where we can dive, but with its many bays and inlets, Malta can usually provide divers with a leeward shore. With high underwater visibility usually 25-30 meters you can see what`s around and there`s quite a bit! The fish life is considered the best in the Mediterranean adding this with the amount of wrecks that are available to be dived and the ease of it all diving in Malta is a clear cut ahead.

As a PADI Seal, you learn the basics of safe diving and explore different Aqua Missions - or specialty dives - like navigation, buoyancy, underwater photography, environmental awareness and more. Here`s your chance to explore cool Aqua Missions, meet friends and share in the adventure of the underwater world.
*Discover Diving and Discover Scuba Diving
The PADI Discover Scuba/Discover Scuba Diving programs let you experience the thrill of diving whilst under the supervision of a PADI Instructor. You`ll master some basic concepts and scuba skills in confined water and might even head off on an open water adventure.
*PADI Scuba Diver
The Scuba Diver program is a pre-entry level certification, which is perfect for people on holiday or who only plan to dive a couple of times a year. It can be completed in as little as two days.
*PADI Open Water Diver Course
This is the first course available under PADI to achieve certification as an open water diver. When in possession of a PADI open water certification the diving world has its doors open as it is recognised at dive centers around the globe. The course is presented over 3-4 days and follows 5 academic sessions, 5 confined and 4 open water dives. Knowledge of basic diving theory is covered by video and instructor presentations, diving skills are developed in confined water and all is put in practice during the open water dives under the supervision of your instructor.
Location description: Dive sites in Malta:
*Cirkewwa
Cirkewwa is found at the northwest end of the Island and there are numerous dives that can be done in the area. Among the most common we find the: Wreck of the ROZI that was scuttled as a tourist attraction in 1992. The wreck is full of marine life and it is found at a depth of 25-35 meters.
The Arch which has an easy entry from the shore and consists of a swim along the back of the reef and the depth is between 6-20 meters.
The Madonna is a statue of Holy Mary that was placed in a cave close to shore by the PDSA (Professional Diving School Association). The dive consists of an easy entry and with a lot of swim through’s it is very nice dive and very good for beginners as the average depth is of 18 meters.
*L’Ahrax
L’Ahrax beach, which is mainly a sandy and rocky bottom and has a very easy access from the shore. L’Ahrax Point is a bit trickier as the access is a bit more difficult due to the walk across the rocks to reach the entrance. The Depth is in the region of 10-30 meters.
*St Paul’s Islands
St Paul’s Islands is a group of 2 Islands, which are very small in size but offer good diving conditions. There a quit an amount of WW2 wrecks around these Islands which can be explored. The dives are from a boat as there is no access from land and the depth varies.
*Qawra
Qawra Point is accessed from the shore over a rocky patch and the dive has a shelving bottom which is where the depth can be picked. Qawra Reef is accessed from land and it is an easy dive as the depth is shallow in the region of 16 meters.
Imperial Eagle is a wreck that has been scuttled as a marine attraction and will soon become a nature reserved area. This is a boat dive and the depth in around the 38 meter mark. Also close to the wreck there is a statue of Christ which was put underwater when the Pope visited Malta.
*HMS Stubborn Submarine
HMS Stubborn Submarine is only for the very experienced divers that are trained to go below 50 meters. The wreck is to say the least out of this world. The visibility is great and the fish life is in abundance. It can only be reached by boat as it is about 3 miles off shore from St Pauls Bay.
*Merkanti Reef
Merkanti Reef is our in-house reef as it is situated just off our door step. The dive can be done from shore or by boat and the depth varies from 6-18 meters. The reef is nice and full of life and the colours are lovely.
*Fortizza
Fortizza is a dive full of swim through’s and small grottos and a lovely reef that are reached from shore or by boat., The depth is in the region of 15 meters.
*Wreck of the Carolita
Wreck of the Carolita is found off the shore of Manoel Island. It has a very easy access from shore. The depth varies from 6-28 meters as the wreck is lying on the bottom of the shore. The wreck is very sheltered and therefore ideal when there is bad weather.
