Company description Here at Gulen Dive Centre you can visit exciting wrecks from the Second World War or drift amongst the stunning flora and fauna. Gulen has over 1700 islands to explore so the diving possibilities are endless. We can offer packages including accommodation, dive trips and air filling.
We can offer you an excellent opportunity to enrol on a Nitrox course and extend your expertise while you are on your diving holiday. After some theory and a couple of dives youwill be able to dive more safely and with larger margins on every dive you take. Some of our dives will give you double bottom-time when breathing Nitrox. This is a safe way to dive and this is the most popular dive course throughout the world today.
Here there is room to store your equipment while you are with us and boxes are available. There are facilities for washing your gear and there is also a drying room if you need to dry your suit. All the bottles are also stored here.
*Gas Filling
We put safety as our top priority and we will provide you with your preferred gas. If you have a group that wants to use Trimix please let us know in advance approximately how much gas you will need. We always have some Helium available at the Centre, but we need to know if larger groups will be needing this so that we can have it in stock. We have Nitrox pre-mixed at a small bank, so if you do not have oxygen-cleaned equipment you can still have Nitrox in your bottles.
*Dive Shop
The Dive Shop is small, but very well stocked and you will find everything here from small clips to complete equipment. We import DiveRite and Bauchat – brands which cover everything for everyone - from technical solutions to sports divers. We also stock suits of many brand names – if you are intending to buy new equipment let us give you a quote.
*Diving vessels
We have several types of boats to take you out to the dive sites. Normally we use the RIB, which gives better flexibility and a wider area to dive. For larger groups we use the bigger boats. All our boats are well equipped with dive ladders, Echo receivers, VHF and GPS mapping.
We are proud of the accommodation and facilities that we offer and we are sure that they will provide a comfortable start to your trip.
Location description: Gulen is an excellent place for diving.
The Diving Centre is surrounded by many unique and varied dive sites. There are endless possibilities for all divers, whatever their experience. We have everything from big WW2 wrecks to icy nature dives. Maybe you would like to take a few underwater photos as souvenirs.
We are fortunate that the most visited and interesting wrecks in Norwegian waters are in our area and these are some of the best wrecks in the world. Come with us and dive the Second World War wrecks of Oldenburg, Ferndale, Parat, Havda, Frankenvald and many more.
Also available Nature dives.
*`The Troll Wall` majestic wall dive
`Nature dive` is probably the most ordinary name you can call a dive, but here you will discover so many new experiences. The Troll Wall is one of our most popular dives and we do hope you will have the opportunity to make this dive while you are here and discover the amazing amount of life the wall supports. This dive will make you feel really small in comparison with your surroundings.
*`BAKKASTRØMMEN` drift dive over soft coral and a wreck
If you like drift driving then you have to dive `Bakkastrømmen` while you are here. On this dive youwill drift at 5-6 knots. This is the home of the `Dead Man`s Hand` soft coral and you will see coral throughout the whole dive. There are wolf fish and lots of cod. At the end of the dive you can pass over a wreck before a safety stop.
*Hille` - `Skatsundet` - formations abounding with life
These are the places you will meet our local rays - in the cracks and formations
or on the sandy bottom. If you are lucky you can meet up to 8 or 10 rays playing in front of you.Dive these spots if you like variety.
Our ray place is one of the few locations in the world where you can guarantee meeting these beautiful creatures.
*``Sharks``
But perhaps you will think that the most amazing experience we have to offer is the chance of diving with the small Piggåå sharks! The best chance of seeing these small sharks is from September to January. They can be as long as 125 cm, but are not dangerous to people.
