Company description Welcome to the C.I.P.S. Diving Center.
Our Diving Center is in the heart of the Cap Creus natural park, in a place called PORT DE LA SELVA. This small village of fishermans on the Costa Brava will make you discover the mediterranean sea as you never known before.
The sun, the charming place, the hotels, the shops, the C.I.P.S. and its crew will let you enjoy wondertul moments in Port de la Selva. You will love walking along the riviera.
If you enjoy diving, from beginners to confirmed divers, the C.I.P.S can coach you as a certified diving center. Diver or not, everybody is welcome.
Our office, shop and meeting point for the inscriptions is at the beach. As we are the only distributor for ``Scubapro`` in Port de la Selva, you’ll find here the complete range of diving equipment as well as spare parts for repair or service.
We also sell diving brands such as``Bersub``, ``Seac Sub`` and ``Mares``.
The classroom with television, video and overhead-projector is behind the shop.
Beside the technical courses, we also organise speciality courses in underwater photography or naturalist.
Our technical center is on the road to Cadaqués, about 800 m. away from the beach. Here you find the compressors, repair service, possibility to flush and store the equipment,...
The compressor unit, composed of 2 modern compressors (each 450 l/min) and several backup-quads is the only compressor station.
The compressor station is inspected by the Spanish government every year, in Port de la Selva.
In addition to the 2 permanent instructors, our team will have up to 6 additional instructors during the summer.
By doing so, we are able to organise weekly FFESSM/CMAS and PADI courses in small groups.
Beside the courses, our instructors will help you to discover the beauty of our fascinating underwater world.
Enjoy the benefits of boat dives!
The ``Immaculada`` is a big, confortable and useful former fishing boat of 15 m. The boat has been adapted as a dive boat by divers with an ample deck space.
You will appreciate the boat with much facilities like tank racks, enough storage for gear and weight belt, diving exit, ladder, covered area (against sun or rain). There`s even a mini bar...
Just enjoy the boat diving in the wonderful scenery of Cape Creus. Everything is done for your security and your pleasure.
A speed dive charter
For special divies or smaller groups of divers a 6 meters-rubber dinghy for 12 divers is at your disposal.
It brings us fast and conveniently to the most beautiful diving places at Cap de Creus.
We dive twice a day from March 15th till November 30th, twice a day. Normally we leave at 9.00 am and 3.00 pm, but this might change depending on the season.
From December 1st till March 15th we only leave at the week-ends, except for groups wishing to dive on weekdays.
Insurance
Only qualified divers are allowed to dive in Spain (except first dives and courses). The Spanish law also requires a personal health and safety insurance.
It might be a good idea to ask your own insurance conpany at home, if not, we can also help you find the best solution in this matter.
FFESSM - CMAS Courses
FFESSM (Fédération Française d`Etudes et de Sports Sous-Marins) is the main organisation delivering certificates in France. These qualifications have the international equivalent of CMAS and allow you to dive all over the world. Membership and insurance are required (65 Euros, included in degree 1).
Degree 1 - CMAS * Diver
335 €
In 6 dives and 3 theory lessons you learn the basic facts about underwate requipment and practice.
Dives are every afternoon and on Friday morning. With this certificate you may dive up to 20 m accompanied by an instructor.
Degree 2 - CMAS ** Diver
335 €
Within 10 dives and 8 hours theory lessons, you learn to dive independently.
Degree 3 - CMAS *** Diver

Location description: Our diving area spreads along 20 km of the north side of the Cape. Many dive sites like creeks, on sheer cliffs or around the isles are only accessible by boat.
The diversity of the underwater world never fails to excite even the most ardent diver. The northern side of the Cape is very rich in fauna and flora. In a colorful aquatic realm, the diver comes across wonderful corals in red, violet or yellow. These are very frequent and still multiplying.

In this marvelous scenery you’ll find all marine life of the Mediterranean Sea. In colder waters (April 13°C, May 16°C) you’ll observe several species coming near the coast for spawning, f.e. nudibranchs, common cuttlefish, octopus, sunfish, angler fish and eagle ray. When the water warms up, other fishes like grouper, brown meagre, dentex, barracuda, bass,.. are appearing.
In 1998 Cape Creus has become a natural park. Inside this enormous space 4 reservates have been created. 3 of them are accessible to divers.

Our diving grounds lie between Port de la Selva and the Isle ``Massa de Oro``, the outer point of Cape Creus. The 20 dive sites we have allow us to vary the site frequently. Due to the many creeks and isles, we’re always able to find a place out of the wind and with a minimum of drift.
Of course we mostly dive inside the Natural Park where fauna and flora grow well.

In this wonderful landscape we can offer you:
- Discovery dives, when requested accompanied by a crew member. Maximum 4 divers with 1 instructor.
- Dive courses
- First dives, possible every afternoon for safely discovering scubadiving.
- Discover scuba, one day to learn the basics of diving.
- Night Divest, once a week.
- Day trips, with lunch aboard or in one of the many creeks of Cape Creus.
- Sports dive, only for qualified divers. Our inflatable with 115 Hp brings groups up to 12 divers maximum to particular dive sites.
- Specialty courses in underwater photography or naturalist, for dicovering a new interest in scubadiving.
- Practical courses nitrox, maintenance of the material, identification of fish, deep diving, as addition to the classical diver training
In addition to traditionnal PADI or CMAS courses, we propose you to learn additional skills specific to your interests. From 2 to 4 dives depending on your course, you will ontinue to develop your dive skills, you will Be more confident in and around the water and finally you will better understand the aquatic world.
