Company description DIVERsity is the diving centre with the difference. We are a professional operation run by professionals for the discerning diver and the aspirant student. Our team of diverse nationalities has dived independently throughout the globe gaining hard earned and much enjoyed experiences from the Red Sea to the Great Barrier Reef; from New Zealand to the Mocambique channel; from fresh water sink-holes in Zimbabwe to deep cave penetrations in Malta. Benefiting from this vast and varied experience of dive sites and centres we have come to the Canary Islands to present the best in what these world diving locations have to offer. All this knowledge is combined under one roof with 3-fold benefits in mind; you our client; ourselves the staff and not least the ocean environment in which we dive.
SCUBA diving in Tenerife? We are DIVERsity; Tenerife`s premier SCUBA diving centre and PADI SCUBA diving training school, centrally located by the harbour of Puerto Colon and close to the tourist areas of Los Cristianos, Playa de Las Americas, Fañabe and Costa Adeje in the South of Tenerife.
We offer PADI diving courses run by our professional and friendly diving instructors as well as twice-daily guided dives to the best diving sites around Tenerife. We welcome all divers from novice to experienced and offer custom diving packages to suit all levels. We offer you a safe and happy environment to enjoy your diving experience in Tenerife; whether you want to explore challenging deep diving or prefer a shallower more ``chilled`` experience, then we offer something for everyone. We will take you on a diving experience to remember.... but more importantly... bring you safely back to the surface every time. Location description: Favorite dive sites:
El Balito:18-30 meters.
Although not teaming with life, El Balito is a spectacular dive for both novice and advanced. The main feature is the mind bending volcanic scenery including numerous caves and swim-throughs. Down at 28 meters you find a large swim through whilst in the shallows you can enter a number of caves including one with a chimney up to the surface. Near the surface you can usually see schools of barracuda patrolling the coastline and in the caves there are numerous sponges, anenemones, glass-eye and trumpet fish.
Playa Paraiso:18-25 meters.
Get set for one of the best dives on the island. With a backdrop of spectacular rock formations, this site is just teeming with life. From a rocky plateau at 10 meters we drop down to 20 and then follow the cliff formation down to 25 meters. Barracuda, octopus, moray eels, sea bream and numerous species of stingray are always present. The highlight is usually a very close encounter with several of the resident Atlantic rays one of which measures 2 meters (not counting the tail). Occasional visitors also include larger angel sharks and butterfly rays.
Palm Mar Cave:20-30 meters.
From the surface we drop on to a rocky plateau at 20 meters and then descend down a wall to sand at 30 meters. Here we find an entrance to an enormous cave protected by moray eels of several species. We do not enter the cave proper as several divers have lost their lives exploring the vast tunnel but instead swim in to the cave entrance just a few meters to take in the mysterious atmosphere. Further out on the sand you can see the occasional passing stingray or even an angel shark!
El Condesito:12-20 meters.
In the early 70`s the ship ``El Condesito`` ran aground whilst carrying cement bags for the construction of Los Cristianos. Whilst it is not as glamorous as a Spanish galleon it makes for an impressive dive site. The wreck is situated in a spectacular backdrop of giant basaltic cliffs and is home to abundant marine life including many oversized trumpet fish, glass eyes, parrotfish and amber jacks. The propeller is at 18 meters whilst the deck is in 10 meters, which makes it an exciting dive for open water divers and novice divers. Black coral is situated at a drop off at 35 meters and makes an interesting diversion for the more experienced.
El Submarino:21 meters.
Just outside our harbour 2 wrecks were sunk to provide entertainment for a local tourist submarine. Years later the submarine has moved off and left a convenient, yet interesting dive site for us. Situated at 21 meters, these wrecks are now home to simply thousands of fish. A large school of Roncadores patrol the stern of a steel yacht whilst overhead it is possible to watch large jacks and tuna circling.
