Dive Academy is a Padi 5 Star IDC Center and Gold Palm Resort. Its also Europe`s most Southern Dive Centre. We are situated in the South of Gran Canaria on the sea front in between two bays, they are both just a short walk from the Centre. Dive Academy has Multi Lingual Instuctors and staff. Everyone is welcome at Dive academy, our aim is for all our guests to enjoy their stay, be safe and most of all have lots of FUN!! Dive Academy Gran Canaria has a comfortable minibus. With this minibus they go to the places on the island, from where they can do shore dives. Also they use this minibus for their ``no hassle, free of charge`` pick up service. If you book a day diving at Dive Academy, and need transport because you`re staying in a hotel in another town... no problem!! They come to your hotel to pick you up and take you back after a great diving day. This service is free of charge. Dive Academy Gran Canaria also has its own boat; 7,5 meter long RIB with an outboard engine. With this boat they bring you to all the dive sites around the island, that you cannot reach from shore. On the boat there is enough room for 12 divers with full equipment. Dive Academy Gran Canaria is the only dive centre on the island with its own, private swimming pool! This swimming pool is the perfect place for all divers to learn or practice skills. Qualified diver or beginner, in our swimming pool you get all the time you need to learn the confidence building skills. For our very young divers (kids from 8 to 10) we do the Bubblemaker course in our pool. So, from Bubblemaker course to Instructor course, the swimming pool is the perfect place!! Dive Academy Gran Canaria has something to offer for all the family! Whether you are a wannabe diver or qualified diver. Whether you want your kids to learn to dive or just do some fun dives yourself - we have something to offer for all the family! There are even comfortable sunbeds at our swimming pool to enjoy the warm Gran Canaria sun. We offer all the PADI courses, from Bubblemaker, Discover Scuba Diving, all the way to Instructor. Every course is conducted by the PADI system. This means that you will get the official PADI certification after completing a course (if it is a certification course). PADI is the worlds largest and most recognized diving organization. So, after completing a course with us, you will find that your diving certificate is recognized all over the world in all PADI dive centres. *Snorkelling Safari A fantastic way for the whole family to explore the amazing marine life our oceans have to offer is the Snorkelling Safari. Under supervision in small groups from one of our instructors we guarantee a fun and educational day with a guided tour of our bay and explanation of the marine life. Even suitable for none swimmers, and it is ideal for younger children and adults who are unable to scuba dive *Bubblemaker We do the Bubblemaker course for our youngest ``adventurers`` (8 to 10 years old). In about 1 to 1,5 hours these young kids learn how to dive in a very playful way. Safely, in our own private swimming pool, under direct supervision of an instructor. After this great course these young adventurers go home with their very first, very real diving certificate! *Discover Scuba Diving For anybody from 10 years and older, we do the Discover Scuba Diving course. In this 1 day course you learn all the basic principles of diving in the morning, and in the afternoon you go for a real dive in the sea under supervision of an instructor. This is not a certification course! It is just a ``one day experience``, a day to ``discover scuba diving``. *Scuba Diver The course consists of video, lectures, pool sessions and two dives in the sea. *Open Water Diver This course is conducted over 4 to 5 days and consists of video, pool sessions, lectures and several dives in the sea. Gran Canaria is not a place you would first think about if you were going on a dive holiday, but you will be shocked at the amount of marine life here. Every dive you will see something special and something new!! The area between Arguinegu�n and Mog�n is known to have one of the healthiest microclimates in the world, relieving respiratory diseases such as asthma or allergies, rheumatism, etc. This is a fantastic way for the whole family to explore the amazing marine life that our oceans have to offer. You have travelled to a small Island in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean which is packed full of some of the greatest marine life on the planet, so why let your adventure stop on dry land!! For so many people the water`s edge is the limit, for divers and snorkelers it`s just the beginning, the world that lies beneath is truly amazing !! Whilst you are under the waves you will explore the underwater world and discover the rich marine life that can be found there. You will always be making exciting new discoveries which will fascinate you and your friends!! The water temperature is around 22-24 degrees nearly all year round with very clear waters, giving perfect visibility. There are some great dives in the South of the island including wrecks, reefs wall and caves. In the East there is El Cabron at the village of Arinaga, which is one of only three Marine Reserves in the Canary Islands. The North also has lots of wreck and reefs to offer all levels of divers. Marine life you will see includes Angel Sharks, Logger Head Turtles, Common Rays, Bull Rays, Sting Rays, Bottle Nose Dolphin, Common Dolphins, Octopus, Cuttlefish, Morays, Barracuda, Trumpet Fish, Parrot fish, Groupers, Puffers, Sea Horses and many more... Gran Canaria is very easy to get to with flights most days from the U.K and other European countries. Flight time is only 4 hours so you`re not losing half your holiday traveling. There are also lots of other things to do in Gran Canaria from the water parks, jeep safaris, sky diving, go karting, wild west show towns, zoo`s with amazing bird shows, rain forests in the north, sand dunes in the south, festivals, beautiful beaches, but you can still find somewhere to relax and catch the all year round sunshine if that`s what you prefer.
