Company description Welcome from the owners of Beyond Blue. Martin Lowe and Nicola Schofield, have over twenty years experience of diving both in the UK and warmer waters around the world, and the diver training facility evolved out of the desire of its two owners to pass on to others the opportunity to share the joys that diving has bought to us and the other countless thousands of divers. We are both PADI Instructors who can teach diving to you from the most basic entry level Discover Scuba through to numerous Speciality courses such as Deep or Enriched Air (Nitrox) diver to name just two.
Imagine the exhilaration of being in the water with hammerhead sharks or swimming with manta rays. Exploring wrecks in the warm waters of the Red Sea or looking at pike, crayfish and trout in UK quarries. From pottering around in the shallows of a Caribbean reef where there is more life and more colour than you can imagine to watching cuttlefish dart about wrecks off the Cornish coast.
At Beyond Blue we hope to introduce you to this fantastic life, it is our aim to provide each student diver with a rewarding and fun course that acts as a next step to continue your diving education. You may only want to learn to dive so you can dive whilst abroad on holiday, or you may want to learn and develop your diving with a view to teaching yourself; whatever, Beyond Blue can put you on the right path.
We offer an extensive range of PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) courses to cater for all your diving needs, children and adult alike, with a low student to instructor ratio.
In addition to being a training facility, we also regularly organise diving trips on a regular basis to popular dive sites in the UK and also the Red Sea. What better way to continue diving long after your course has finished. Keep an eye on our regular news updates to check when these trips are.
It is important to us that you get the most out of whatever course you decide to do. To achieve this we intentionally keep our course sizes small (maximum of two) so that each student diver gets the maximum amount of support and guidance in the water and out. We maintain a student to instructor ratio in Open Water of 1:1We are aware that there is a lot more to diving than being in the water so we are available for advice on the following:

Your wellbeing is of utmost importance to us and to achieve this we adhere strictly to the requirements of the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) whilst teaching in the UK and follow the standards of PADI, the training agency. All in water staff we use are qualified PADI instructors. We don’t just do this for your safety but also for your comfort and enjoyment.
Diving is a fun and rewarding past time that many people can enjoy safely; with one qualification you have the ability to explore 70% of the Earth!

Location description: Our Training Philosophy
We believe that students learn to dive more quickly and enjoyably when they get a more individual style of
tuition. We purposely keep our class sizes to a minimum (maximum of two) so that all of the students in a class get the maximum amount of help at whatever stage of the course they are at. We know that new divers sometimes have concerns about the diving they are doing; these concerns can often go unspoken in a larger group. With Beyond Blue this will not happen. We consider our courses to be an enjoyable time where small groups of like minded people are seeking to achieve the same thing; to learn to dive safely, quickly and most importantly, whilst having fun! Many of our past students from around the country are now our friends and we still dive with them long after they have finished courses with us.
Our Personalised Courses
If you are not able to get to one of our scheduled courses Beyond Blue may able to teach you on a one to one basis if that is what you prefer to provide you with the ultimate tailor made personalised course. These courses are particularly useful for busy individuals (or couples who want to learn as a couple) but unable to get the time available to them when courses are being run. Likewise, Beyond Blue may be able to teach ladies only courses with a female instructor.
Children’s Courses
Among the courses offered by Beyond Blue are some for children. These are supervised and conducted by staff who have passed the stringent checks in relation to Child Protection. We want your children’s experiences of diving to be great fun, which we know they will be! Parents are always present when their children are in the water
Instructional Staff
All in water staff used by Beyond Blue, including its owners, are fully qualified PADI instructors with years of experience in many diving conditions. They are renewed members (that is they are current and updated with the latest requirements from PADI) and able to teach a full compliment of courses. They are also First Aiders, trained to respond to the majority of divers’ problems. Their safety record is exemplary.
