Bonaire Fun Travel UK
(English)
Service:
Accommodation for Divers
Vacation Holiday Scuba Diving
Company description
The Fun Travel UK office was opened in response to growing interest in the Dutch Caribbean from people in the UK and Ireland, and now a brochure and website is needed specifically for the British and Irish tourist.
We publish these with a sense of achievement, as it is the first brochure to be published specifically for the UK and Ireland. Our UK brochure features the three main islands, Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao.We tried to keep the text short, and avoid ``brochure speak``, whilst trying to give you as much information as we can.
We love talking about the islands, so please feel free to contact us. Even small details can make or spoil a holiday, and need to be resolved before you travel.
Bonaire Fun Travel was founded six years ago in the Netherlands. Local knowledge and friendly customer service, has been the basis of our success.
Starting with holidays to Bonaire, hence the name, the company grew quickly and was soon offering holidays on the other islands in the Dutch Carib-bean. Bonaire Fun Travel, Netherlands, have published several brochures over the years, each one bigger and better, and this year will publish separate brochures for several Caribbean islands, a real measure of their success.
We tried to keep the text short, and avoid ``brochure speak``, whilst trying to give you as much information as we can. We love talking about the islands, so please feel free to contact us. Even small details can make or spoil a holiday, and need to be resolved before you travel.
The Netherlands company and the UK company are family run compa-nies. The De Rooij family, with the support of their colleagues, in the Netherlands, and the UK company is run by Doug and Marie Durrant from their office in Northamptonshire. We tailor-make each holiday individually to your requirements and wishes. We organise a ``holiday plan`` but it is your holiday plan, not one from ``off the shelf``.
We give personal service, we are a small company, so we don`t have any other kind of service! We do not sell holidays, we organise them, and then it`s up to you. We get enormous job satisfaction from knowing that people enjoy these holidays. However, the islands have a commitment to their environment, which is to be admired and supported, and this adds to the pleasure we get from doing our job.
Our policy is to be honest, open and fair to our customers. We give information honestly and handle issues that might arise with common sense. Travel companies say their advice is objective, but ours is based on recent personal experience and local knowledge. We are an independent tour operator.
We have personally visited and selected the accommodation. Advice or information weoffer is entirely without obligation. We never hide behind the small print– in fact we don`t have any small print! Thanks for your interest.
Location description:
Some words about:
*Bonaire is small, 22 miles by an average of 5 miles wide, 30 miles from Curaçao and 86 miles from Aruba, with a population of only 13,000, and two towns, Kralendijk the capital, and Rincon. Resorts and hotels are all small scale and within a mile or two of Kralendijk. Bonaire, in a referendum, committed itself to protect it`s environment and resist development. No mass tourism, no theme parks, no high rise hotels, no traffic lights. The only traffic hazard is the donkeys that roam freely in the south. Clean and tidy - an unspoiled gem. Bonaire is one of the Caribbean`s least developed islands. Only 5% of Bonaire`s land area is developed. Bonaire set aside 25% of the land, mostly in the Washington Slagbaai National Park which includes the northern coastline, for conservation. The entire island of Klein Bonaire, close to the west coast, is a nature reserve. Bonaire`s natural, unpretentious honesty, fantastic diving freedom, outdoor life, commitment to the environment, friendly people, all combine to make a truly exhilarating atmosphere in which you can enjoy your stay.
*Curaçao is the big sister of the ABC islands. Bonaire and Aruba share Curaçao`s history and culture, but each island has developed in distinct ways, Aruba becoming more developed, and Bonaire resisting almost all development. Curaçao combines elements of both these characteristics, with a unique and exciting character of it`s own. Willemstad, the capital of Curaçao, has a lively, varied nightlife and hundreds of historical buildings, evidence of a wonderful mix of cultures. The island of Curaçao also has a wide choice of activities and attractions, rather like Aruba. There is a lot of outdoor sports activities to enjoy, on land and sea, many natural attractions, plus tours and excursions. However, the bulk of the island is undeveloped, like Bonaire, unspoilt and very peaceful. The west coast has 37 miles of beautiful, pristine coastline, 38 secluded coves with wonderful sandy beaches, and a placid, turquoise ocean. The coves and bays are perfect for relaxing, very quiet and usually shared with no more than a handful of people. They are perfect for shore diving and water sports. They offer easy access to the ocean, and with few other people around, you can enjoy your chosen pastime in freedom and at your own pace. The rugged east coast, the open ocean side, is 37 miles of powerful ocean crashing against spectacular volcanic rock formations. You have the best of both worlds. Curaçao has a wonderful blend of interesting history, natural beauty, sociable nightlife and sports and activities, not least it`s world class diving. Over 60 official dive sites, 40 of which are shore diving sites. Curaçao has so much to offer, for all tastes and ages. But, like the other Antilles islands, Curaçao is not commercially developed. There is no mass tourism, no theme parks here. What Curaçao gives you is so much more enjoyable because it is not manufactured. It`s there if you look.
