Company description
The Bath Dive Centre was opened in March 2001 to serve the training and equipment needs of the large and growing diving community in the Bath area and has become the central focus for diving activity in the Bath district. The Bath Dive Centre offers a fully stocked retail outlet, training opportunities for all, dive holiday services, full equipment servicing, refills and equipment hire. Our team:
*Andy Holland has been a PADI Dive Instructor since 1981 and has a wealth of experience. Andy is an underwater film and video cameraman and has had his work shown on BBC, ITV and Sky Television. Andy is also a Commercial Sat Diver.
*Collin Nunn has been diving for six years and has been an Instructor for the past three years. Collin’s history is in Sales and Marketing within the Medical Industry.
We also offer training.
*Discover scuba diving
The PADI Discover Scuba Diving program allows you to experience the thrill and excitement of diving under the supervision of a qualified PADI professional in pool or pool-like conditions. During your adventure you`ll master basic concepts and scuba skills and experience, first hand, weightlessness and breathing underwater. Some of the skills practiced during this program could count towards your Open Water certification. Minimum age restriction is 10 years.
*Open water course
As a PADI Open Water Diver, the most recognised and respected rating in the world, will give you the freedom to dive with a buddy independent of a professional anywhere in the world. The course consists of a mixture of performance based activities in the classroom, pool (confined water) and sea (open water). The Open Water Diver course allows you to dive to a maximum depth of 18 metres. Minimum age restriction is 14 years.
*Advanced open water course
The PADI Advanced Open Water Course is the next step for scuba divers after having completed their Open Water Course. You will be required to complete a mandatory Deep Adventure Dive and Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive. In addition to this, you will be required to select three other adventure dives such as Boat Diver, Night Diver, Wreck Diver etc.
*Rescue diver course
The PADI Rescue Diver Course is the perfect choice for those divers who wish to be better prepared to help others and themselves. It is a comprehensive course designed to give divers a complete understanding of preventative measures, self-help, accident management and the ability to assist others in the event of an emergency. Minimum age restriction is 15 years.
*Emergency first response
Emergency First Response is an innovative primary and secondary care program, Primary care (CPR) prepares you to administer aid to those with life threatening emergencies. Secondary care (first aid) builds upon the lessons of primary care and helps you assist those in need when emergency medical services are either delayed or unavailable.
*Divemaster
Take the first step in your dive career and become a PADI Divemaster. Working closely with a PADI Instructor, you`ll expand your dive knowledge and hone your skills as you become a dive professional. PADI Divemaster training develops your leadership skills by training you to supervise dive activities and assist instructors with student divers.
*Master scuba diver
This certification denotes that you have reached the highest recreational diver level in the PADI system of diver education. A PADI Master Scuba Diver certification indicates that you have a significant level of training and experience in a variety of dive environments.
*Specialty courses
The Bath Dive Centre offers an extensive servicing and repair service including annual regulator and BCD testing, hydrostatic cylinder testing, suit repairs and computer/watch repair and pressure testing and calibration. We can service and repair equipment from all of the main manufacturers and offer advice on routine care and maintenance of your dive equipment.
Location description:
The Bath Dive Centre organises numerous trips throughout the course of the year to accommodate all divers. Either Andy or Collin is always present on these holidays to give you the reassurance of always having an instructor `on hand`.
In addition to organising group holidays for our divers, we are able to arrange holidays for individual travellers or for those travellers who already have their flights organised.
Each month, the Bath Dive Centre hosts a ``dive night`` social event at the Belvedere Wine Vaults where local divers come to share experiences, meet new people and drink [plenty of] beer!! The evening is attended by PADI, SAA and BSAC divers from the Bath district. Proceeding start at 8pm and free food is supplied.
We look forward to dive with you.
