The centre was established over 18 years ago by Gary Fox, one of the country’s leading instructors and instructor trainers with many years experience in both the commercial and recreational diving industries.
So, whether you’re looking to try diving, or perhaps you`re already a diver who fancies a dip in Cornwall, or you may simply want to further develop your skills and training, then please take a few minutes to look around our site.

Whilst experiencing the thrill of visiting the underwater world, you will learn the more practical skills required for diving, in an enjoyable and safe way.
We offer a full range of PADI and BSAC diver training courses. Internationally qualified instructors can take you through the entire training programmes of these organisations.
Whether you are discovering diving for the first time or are a certified diver wanting to gain additional qualifications, Dive Action will safely guide you through to a successful completion.
Why not come and have a try-dive with our `Discover SCUBA` Swimming Pool Try Dive. You’ll receive a brief introduction to the equipment and procedures and then get to have a splash. You`ll be accompanied by a qualified Instructor, and for half-an-hour you will find out exactly what it feels like to move about with complete freedom underwater.
If you`re looking for something with a bit more credibility, you could opt for a basic SCUBA course. We offer the following:
BSAC Experience SCUBA
Discover the fun and adventure of scuba diving in safe, controlled conditions. This course will give you the opportunity to experience scuba and to access whether it is a sport you wish to take more seriously by enrolling on the BSAC Ocean Diver course. The course is split into two sections:
1. Introduction to scuba diving, where you will learn the basic information required to dive safely.
2. Practical diving lesson in sheltered water, where you will experience the thrill and adventure of the underwater world and learn some basic skills in an enjoyable and safe way.
PADI Discover SCUBA Diving
Lets you experience the thrill of diving under the supervision of a PADI Instructor. During your adventure, you`ll master some basic concepts and scuba skills and might even head off on an open water adventure. With Discover Scuba Diving, you`re on your way to an internationally recognized certification.
Equipment and materials are provided for try dives - all you need to do is bring a towel and swimming costume, and fill in a simple medical self-declaration/liability release form.
As a TDI and ANDI technical diving centre, Dive Action is able to meet the requirements of the most demanding technical diving.
We offer a complete range of training courses to cater for all levels, from basic nitrox through to advanced trimix, including mixer blender, service technician, and instructor level training.
A trapeze decompression station is provided and full gas blending facilities, including argon, are available.
Location description: Cornwall, possibly the country’s premier diving location, offers the combination of a temperate climate along with a coastline washed by the clear, clean waters of the Atlantic Gulf Stream. This ensures good underwater visibility all year around.
Basking Sharks are regular visitors to the Cornish coastline, along with Porpoises and Dolphins.
The Manacles
This area of reef covering approximately one square mile, is an abundance of shipwrecks and reefs ranging from 8m to 80m, catering for divers of all levels. There has been more loss of shipping here than on any other comparable reef on the entire south coast of Britain, with over 110 ships and more than 1,000 lives lost.
Located less than one mile from the launch site of Porthoustock beach, the Manacles, one of the best dive sites on the south coast of Cornwall, offers some of the most exciting diving in the country.
Our location is especially suited for developing your technical diving skills. Deep clear water with depths of 60m+ can be reached within a mile of the shore. In addition there is the attraction of several hundred wrecks in the immediate area; many uncharted and undived.
