Company description Welcome to Diving Leisure, Dorset`s only PADI Career Development Center and National Geographic Dive centre, established over 20 years ago!
Diving Leisure is, as the front page says, a PADI Career Development Centre and National Geographic Dive Centre.
What the front page didn`t say, because I didn`t want to drone on too much, is that we`ve been here in Poole for 20 years - that`s a very long time, especially in the dive business! - and that some of the divers who did their open water diver course with us are now Course Directors teaching instructors who are now teaching their very own open water divers.
Club social meeting
...yeah, ok. ``Social meeting`` is a euphemism for ``drink-up``. But hey, who`s counting.
Next club do is at the new TGI Fridays, Tower Park (opposite the entrance to the cinema), on the 19th of April. Free food, etc etc... scroll down for info on signing up to our club email list for more info, and sign up - hey, it`s free!.

To (mis)quote the famous Mr Samuel Taylor Coleridge`s The Rime of the Ancient Mariner: Water water everywhere, and not a soul to dive with.
Or at least, that`s the usual story. We hear it a lot:
Joe Bloggs: I learned to dive at such-and-such-a-centre in such-and-such-a-town/country. And now I`m all qualified and everything, but I don`t go diving.
Us: Oh, why not?
Joe Bloggs: I don`t know anyone to dive with. And I`m not confident booking onto a boat. Or diving in UK waters. Or diving with someone who`s not an instructor. And XYZ Dive Club don`t even want to know me unless I`ve got 700 logged dives deeper than 950m in UK waters...
Well, I think that`s all piffle. If you`re a qualified diver, you`re able to dive (otherwise you wouldn`t be qualified, now would you?) - and if you`re able to dive, you`re alright by me. And us.
So, that`s where the club thing comes in. The premise is simple: meet people, go diving, eat stuff, drink stuff. Doesn`t get much simpler than that, does it?
In the interests of making the club as inclusive to everyone as possible, we`re dropping the membership fee (yep, it`s free!) but keeping the benefits:

Invites to club nights out - theoretically, once a month. If I forget to organise one, please feel free to chastise me.

Other stuff, as and when we think of it.
So, it`s free, right? There`s got to be a catch? Well... no, not really. You do have to agree to sign up to our club mailing list - which means you do have to have an email address. But, we won`t sell it to anyone, and your details are safe with us. You might also, from time to time, be asked to fill in the odd online survey for us - but again, it`s only for us and we`ll be the only people who ever get to see the answers. And most of all, you need to actually turn up and do something with us - whether that`s just the odd pint here and there, or whether you`re out diving with us every evening. Entirely up to you - make the most of it. Get your money`s worth, as it were!
Location description: We run boat dives from the Poole area to the vast range of dives in the region. We cater for all levels of diver, and will be pleased to advise you about trips for your particular interest, certification and experience level.
We run regularly scheduled RIB dives on Wednesday evenings from Cobbs Quay (around 6:30-7pm depending on tides).
Bookings outside these dates are more than welcome and we`ll do our level best to accomodate you. Expect more scheduled dates over summer.
The Rules
Our rules are pretty simple, and there for your safety. Please obey them - and remember the skipper`s word is final!
Divers must dive within their certification limits - if you`re an open water diver, that`s 18m, not 22m!
Equipment hire is available for all dives, but we do not hire masks & snorkels for hygeine reasons.
All divers must provide their own red or orange SMB & reels, which are mandatory on all our dives and should be clearly marked with your name (divers wishing to claim that their name is Buddy will be required to furnish documentary evidence!). For safety reasons, we do NOT hire SMBs and reels, as you really need to understand how to work your reel and inflate your SMB - otherwise it doesn`t so much mark your position AT the surface as take you TO the surface. If in doubt, get your instructor to show you!
Diving is a social activity, and we`ll usually suggest that you join us for a drink afterwards. You`re free to join us or not as you choose, but please don`t rely on someone else for transport if you don`t want to go for a beer afterwards just in case they do!
If you want to dive solo and are equipped and qualified to do so, that`s fine. However, if you`re diving in a group and become separated we don`t expect you to continue diving without them or them without you. Search for one minute and surface!
Training
Experience Scuba
Giving Scuba a try isn`t complicated or time-consuming - you can be in the water and diving almost immediately with a range of experience programmes suitable for the young, the young at heart and the rest of us!
First-aid training
Emergency First Response is an innovative CPR/first aid program. A range of courses, supported by modern materials and driven by leading-edge instructional methodologies provide a first-aid qualification framework which has won several accolades and recognition from governmental bodies worldwide (including First Aid at Work recognition from the UK`s HSE)
PADI Training
PADI is the world`s leader in dive training, and issued almost a million diver certifications in 2004.
National Geographic
As a National Geographic Diver, you join an elite group of explorers, adventurers and conservationists. The insight and training you gain during this program will broaden your awareness and take your diving skills to a new level. You`ll learn to observe and explore like an underwater scientist.
