Company description
Welcome to HawksBill Dive Centre!
Hawksbill Dive Centre is owned by PADI OWSI 626983 Beth Andrews.
I am qualified to teach courses and programs from discover scuba diving to Divemaster. I run the business with partner Darrall, PADI Divemaster 625198.
All courses are PADI approved.
We are running the dive school on a mobile basis. Covering Somerset, Bristol, Torbay and Cardiff, and other areas on request.
It has been my dream since I started diving to be a dive instructor and own my dive centre, So how did we get our name? Every time we dived abroad, I was desperate to see a turtle, but never saw one. When I went out to Thailand to take my IDC and IE, it was my first time abroad alone, and I was feeling a little bit home sick, I had booked some pre IDC diving, and was taking a photography course with a photo journalist. While I was taking macro pictures of a porcupine fish, my instructor, tapped me and pointed out a beautiful hawksbill turtle, so we swam over and took some pictures. That dive was a dream come true for me, it was my first turtle sighting, it was my first good experience in Thailand, and it reminded me why I love diving so much. Remember you can have good dives and not so good dives but some outstanding ones will live in your memories for ever.

DAN Europe Training Programme:
Oxygen First Aid For Scuba Diving Injuries
This course represents entry-level training designed to educate the general
diving (and qualified non-diving) public to better recognise possible dive-related
injuries and to provide emergency oxygen first aid while activating the
local emergency medical services (EMS) and / or arranging for evacuation
to the nearest available medical facility.
Course Objective
The course is designed to train and educate the general diving public in
the techniques of using oxygen as first aid for a suspected dive injury.
In addition, this course will introduce novice divers to the fundamentals
of recognising diving injury signs and symptoms, response and management.
This program also provides an excellent opportunity for experienced divers
and instructors to continue their education.
The DAN Oxygen Provider course is not designed to train lay persons to provide
oxygen to the general public. While the medical standards and equipment
are the same regarding the emergency use of oxygen for both divers and non-divers,
the DAN Oxygen Provider course does not prepare individuals to respond to
the ill or injured member of the general public by using emergency oxygen
