Our Dive Centre was opened in early 2004 to offer the people of Huddersfield and surrounding areas a first class dive centre. Colin the owner of the dive centre has through his diving abilities and his retail experience provided one of the newest and fastest growing local dive centres. HDC currently has 6 Instructors, 2 Assistant Instructors and 6 Dive Masters working for them to bring the PADI course you want when you want. Between the instructors they are qualified to teach all the PADI specialty courses. What ever you want to do and wherever you want to go within the PADI Dive community HDC are qualified to take you there.HDC have a large bank of Instructors, Assitant Instructors and Dive Masters who we work with so we can ensure that you get the course that is right for you, when you want it and more importantly at the pace you want. All PADI courses are run with you the customer in mind, HDC will arrange your course around your own schedule. Its your course, you choose how you want it!
Alongside our Dive Shop (based in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire) where we offer Scuba equipment sales, hire and SERVICING, air fills and professional scuba diving advice we also provide a focal point for the HUDDERSFIELD DIVE CENTRE DIVE CLUB where members meet at our regular pool nights to improve their Scuba diving skills, socialise with other PADI qualified divers and plan, organize and partake in dive trips both in the UK and abroad.

Huddersfield Dive Centre Dive Club
has been founded by Colin at to promote the continuation of Scuba Diving beyond courses and to provide a social base for divers to meet. The Dive club operates in association with the shop to bring a wide selection of membership benefits including Dive Club diving trips and non diving social events.
Tuesday evenings offer the chance for new and experienced divers to use the shops pool night sessions and to have a social drink to meet other dive club members afterwards. You can use the pool just for a swim, to practise skills or to engage one of the shops PADI professionals to help you gain more diving experience.

Padi Open Water (beginners) Diver Certification
The PADI Open Water Course consits of three sections:
Confined water dives.
Knowledge development and reviews
Open Water Dives.
The fun begins with the confined water dives, during which you will apply dive principles, and learn and practice dive procedures and skills. This is done in a swimming pool under your constructor`s guidence and supervision. There are five confined water dives that correspond with five knowledge development sections.
Knowledge development establishes the principles and basic information all divers need to have fun diving safely. It`s divided into five segments that you will complete at your own time and convenience using the manual and Open Water Video. After each segment, your instructor reviews and elaborates on the material applying your learning to specific needs, interests and the local dive environment.
The open water dives complete your training as an entry level diver by applying and further developing your knowledge and dive skills in a dive environment under your instrucors supervision and guidence. You will make at least four scuba dives during this part of the Open Water Course.
Completing the Open Water Course will allow the diver to:
Dive independentley (with a buddy) while applying the knowledge and skills learnt within the limits of your training and experience.
Procure air fills, scuba equipment and other services.
Plan, conduct and log open water non decompression dives when equiped properly and accompanied by a buddy in conditions with which you have training and/or experience.
Continue your diver training with a speciality dive in the PADI Advanced Open Water programme, and/or in PADI Speciality courses.
