Our Shop
The shop is being completley refitted with everything you need, from weights and wetsuits to cylinders and courses. New equipment from top suppliers - Scubapro - Poseidon -Apeks - Typhoon - Bowstone - Lumb Bros - Suunto etc all types at very competative prices. The new state of the art gas blending room can supply Air Fills to 300Bar Nitrox and Trimix ,services to Regs, Repairs to dry suits and cylinder testing is carried out ``In House`` by top service technicians.
The new Lakeside Diving Centre opened with the new shopping centre by junction 30/31 of the M25 over eleven years ago. The Centre has developed into a major diving retail and educational Centre with many additional activities. The extensive 22 acre lake is ideal for training courses and has been used for thousands of Open Water and other courses in the past ten years.
Firstly, we have all of the facilities of Lakeside literally on our door step. Choose to eat from one of over 50 different restaurants and cafes, join us in the floating pub and go to the cinema after a busy day diving. As far as the diving goes, our dive store is one of the largest in Southern England, we have good quality changing and showering facilities, classroom and easy access to a local swimming pool.
In the lake we have the UK record pike as well as a whole array of fresh water course fish. If you`re lucky you`ll see old floaty the pike. One of the oldest fishy residents, floaty has a swim-bladder problem and can be found listing at an alarming angle. He usually looks pretty dead until you get up close. March 2006 see,s the introduction of over 1000 new fish being relesed. keep posted for the introduction date.
For divers we have placed various training platforms, floating triangles, two lorry cabs, a London black taxi, a transit van, a wreck and even a BT red telephone box.
Diving is one of the most exciting and leading edge sports in the UK - its also one of the fastest growing. Our courses are all great fun, with a necessary emphasis on safety and of course there is a social side - many, many people get into diving to make new friends. Come on down - enjoy yourself!
If scuba diving is not for you and you prefer the tranquillity of sitting on the banks of the lake fishing, we offer purpose made swims (14 pegs) allocated on the northern part of the lake. Parking is convienently close by. A huge range of fresh water fish are available, from the record breaking pike to the more common perch, roach, rudd and crusian carp.Our bailiff will periodically visit the swims checking you have a vailid envioromental agency rod licence and will issue a day ticket or you can call into the centre. £10.00 per day for two rods. No night fishing and no live baiting. Please remember to consider the enviroment and take your rubbish home with you.
Location description: February 2006 sees lakeside Diving and Water sports Centre taken over by new owners and management.
Kevin Side (Aqua Tec Divers) and Tony Elliot are the new owners of the Dive Centre. Kevin coming from a strong background in Technical diving around the UK and abroad with business partner Tony Elliott have invested in the re generation of the dive centre, firmly re-instating the PADI 5 star Rating and also transforming the centre into a level 4 TDI Centre. February 9th sees the opening of lakeside`s New Air,Nitrox and Trimix gas Station. With the latest gas blending equipment and one of the UK`s largest supply and storage of diving gases,Lakeside can supply Clean Air Fills to 300 Bar, Nitrox and Diving grade Helium. March 2006 see`s the installation of a Full Service Facility in Cylinder testing,O2 Cleaning,Regulator Servicing, and equipment testing.
April 2006 we are pleased to open our surface watersport section. Offering Sailing - Windsurfing - Canoeing and Boat handling courses. So if you love the water you`ll love Lakeside .
We are offering a complete learn to package wether it be Learn to Dive - Sail - Windsurf or Canoe. These are going to be available to all ages, Also lots of other interesting course`s from all the main Governing bodies.
