New Horizons Dive Centre has a long history in specialising in underwater photography and videography. The staff have a keen interest in this aspect of diving and between them have had work published in diving and travel magazines, shown on television programmes and won numerous national and international competitions. They are happy to discuss and give advise on all aspects of underwater photography and videography.
Sales
New Horizons is able to offer an extensive range of cameras and systems, many straight from stock. Everything from simple one use cameras to professional housed systems are available including digital still and video systems.
Rental
New Horizons offers an extensive equipment rental service. We stock a full range of rental equipment from masks and snorkels to drysuits and dive computers, all fully serviced. Expert advice is available so you will get what you need, in the correct size, on time.
Courses
Regular courses in digital underwater photography are offered to help you get the most from your camera system or help you make the correct purchasing decisions. Camera systems are available for your use on these modular courses.
New Horizons Dive Society aims to allow divers to meet other divers; to keep on diving and to keep in touch with what`s going on. There are many benefits to society members not least of all the opportunity to explore new dive sites in the UK and abroad as well as to maintain your diving skills through organised workshops or informal pool sessions. The aims of the society are to provide a convenient vehicle through which customers of New Horizons Dive Centre can find out about organised dive trips and courses and meet other like-minded people. You can keep in touch with important developments in diving and continue your learning through the newsletter, ``Horizon News``. It will encourage members to maintain their diving skills by diving and by practising in the pool as well as improving their skills through continuing education.

Open Water Diver Course
A course for the complete beginner which leads to you gaining an internationally recognised certification in diving - PADI Open Water Diver. This certification allows you to dive anywhere in the world; to rent or buy scuba equipment and is your first step to a whole series of exciting activities which take place underwater. This fun-packed course involves audio-visual presentations; pool lessons and 4 open water dives and is a great way for you to make new friends both below and above the water.
Open Water Referral
This completes the theory and pool sections of the Open Water Diver course (choose from the options below). You will then be ready to complete you four outside qualifying dives. This can be done with us here in the UK, on one of our Red Sea Trips or at any PADI dive centre while on holiday.
The theory is completed using the materials package plus the videos/DVD followed by a knowledge development session and a final quiz at New Horizons. Pool sessions take place in Sandbach on Wednesday evenings or Macclesfield Sat/Sun evenings. Courses also available at Wilmslow leisure Centre. On these self-study options the DVD is included in the price of the course. Before attending the knowledge development session students must have studied all five chapters in their manuals and answered their knowledge reviews at the end of each chapter.
Classroom option
Attend five theory and five pool sesions over five Sunday evenings. Theory sessions are at New Horizons classroom. Pool work at Macclesfield Leisure Centre.
Open Water Completion
You complete your four outside qualifying dives which will earn you the PADI Open Water Diver certification, the worlds most recognised diving qualification.
UK option
Your four dives will take place at Capernwray near Lancaster, over two days - options are listed at end of sheet. You will need to have completed the Open Water Referral and the Drysuit session to take part on these days.
Red Sea option
Your four dives will take place at the start of your trip with us to the Red Sea leaving you up to four days to dive as a qualified diver or to continue your diving education (ask for details of our upcoming trips)
Holiday option
You can complete your four dives at and PADI dive centre while on holiday. It is recommended that you arrange your dives before going away to avoid disappointnment.
Introduction to Snorkelling
An introduction to snorkelling for the beginner, this course gives an introduction to the correct use of basic snorkelling equipment; mask, snorkel and fins. The introduction lasts for about one hour and is carried out in a swimming pool with a qualified divemaster or instructor. If students progress quickly it is possible to go on and look at breath hold diving in the later stages of this session, or a further session can be booked if required.
