Company description Ocean Dreams was a vision seen by two divers who have over 25 years diving experience between them. After working in the diving industry for a number of years we have seen the industry become saturated by greed. Student and novice divers have become a number, a figure on the balance sheet, the fun is slowly being taken from the sport. So we wanted to introduce a safe haven to all new and current fun loving divers. Ocean Dreams is where your dreams begin, as well as safe diving, we want you to enjoy yourself and meet new and interesting people, go to places you would normally see only on the television.
Whether you are on a learn to dive course or furthering your current diving qualification, you can participate with the confidence of knowing that you could not be in better, or safer hands.
Our staff are not only active divers but they are all professionals, and as such have full involvement with all aspects of diver training. The people you first meet in the centre will often be with you providing the instruction and guidance, along with plenty of cheerful encouragement, throughout your training programs.
We run all courses in both the UK and exotic locations like the Red Sea - so you could complete your training with a holiday having done the theory and pool work in Bristol..
Our People
Tina Symons, (on the right) taking a new diver to explore this beautiful reef in the Red Sea.
She is responsible for administration, training co-ordination and instruction. A PADI IDCS Instructor (and one of the regions few female instructors). A very approachable and capable person who is only too happy to help. When requested, Tina conducts our female only classes! If you want to do something or try something Tina will fix it.
Bob Symons, sampling what looks suspiciously like seawater!
He is the Chief Instructor, will be found at all pool sessions and if you need some information or advise most Saturday`s he is found in the shop. His laid back nature has allowed the most nervous diver to grow in the confidence of their own skill. Allegedly a 60`s throw back, but if challenge he will only admit to being a 70`s babe.
Luke Symons Always smiling...
He is the face you are most likely see when you visit our shop, Luke is studying hard to progress through the PADI qualifications and will be starting his Divemaster this year. Luke is highly organised and can arrange all your activities from training to holidays. Always willing to help he is a young enthusiastic member who complements our team and shares our philosophy.

Leon Thyer, on a wreck in near perfect visibility.
He is responsible for servicing, Leon is a PADI Master Instructor everyone is in the most experienced hands and his patient and friendly approach instantly creates a comfortable and enjoyable atmosphere. Leon is the man most likely to be responsible for the maintenance and/or repair of your diving equipment. A highly trained professional, with a wealth of information, who is only too happy to share it with those who like the more technical aspects of diving equipment.
Training Team Paul Parker, Martin Ford, Mike Reynolds,Terry Smith, Shane & Jamie Wallace, Rory & Saskia McNulty, Sandra Keith, Rebecca McMurren and Steve West.
The quality of the equipment used is of paramount importance. Our school kit is replaced with new, annually. We are confident that our school kit is the best. We welcome, and recommend, that you come and have a look at the equipment before embarking on any training activity, please come and see for yourself. Using top brand, top quality equipment will make your learning experience that much easier and pleasurable.

MANADO SULAWESI
Cost Approx £1106.00 & Diving. Tasik Ria 5 days £210 KBR 3 days £153 Deposit required £300.00
Every two years we do a big one and here it is.............(that’s a joke we’ve just come back from the Maldives)
Manado at the tip of Sulawesi has its own National park. The Volcanic nature of the landscape makes the underwater environments dramatic and full of over 3000+ species of fish with hundreds of varieties of coral , the Hairy frog fish and mimic Octopus that share the sea bed with its seahorse neighbours live in semi harmony with the reef sharks, turtles and if your lucky you may even get to see the odd pilot whale, Spinning Dolphins and ray.
Previously we have only ever visited one resort but this time were going to go for two. Starting from Heathrow we anticipate travelling via Singapore to Manado to a resort known as Tasik Ria:
Tasik Ria is situated a few metres from the beach and boasts some 34 air-conditioned rooms, en-suite showers, TV, fridge and coffee/tea facilities. It has a large lagoon pool, fitness room and water sports facilities. The price quoted refers to pool-view rooms, which can be upgraded to sea-view if you prefer.
After 8 nights stay we will then be moving to Kungkungan Bay Resort, for a full board 4 night stop over which is situated over the quiet and unique Lembeh Straits both resorts are keen favourites for divers and dive packages for both include 3 guided boat divers per day and lunch on the boat.
Finally we return via Singapore airlines to Singapore for a one day stop over and shopping trip, culminating in our return to Heathrow and home.
Manado is not just about diving this two week adventure can be what you want it to be, if you feel you want to do more, how about a trek through the Rainforest, breakfast on the side of a volcano go white water rafting or snorkel with the dugongs (don’t ask me, they call them sea cows (Tina???) The climate is tropical. April – Oct experience short showers, water temp is normally around 25 (might not need to pack the dry suit).
MALTA
Malta is an island steeped in history and culture. This white rock with its friendly locals plays host to an underwater playground for any keen diver. Wrecks, caves, caverns and reefs can be found from the shore as well as boats.
Malta affords a relaxing time and can interest not only divers but can offer plenty to do for the none diver who may visit the historical city of Valetta or roam around St Pauls discovering its history and secrets.
So why are we telling you all this now because we’d like you to join us.
