Whether you`re a certified diver wanting to experience the thrills and excitement of inland diving or you`re completely new to sub aqua, Vobster Quay has something to offer.
For those wanting to take their first tentative steps into the world of diving, our dive school offers a selection of training courses from the world`s largest and most respected training agencies. We strive to deliver a range of flexible courses that are a cut above the rest, ensuring you learn to dive in a friendly, fun, controlled and - above all - safe environment.


For certified divers, there`s no better place to hone your diving skills and have fun than at Vobster Quay. With 36-acres of fresh water diving in depths ranging from 6m to 36m, divers of all levels will find the heady mix of exciting underwater attractions and a full range of diving support services hard to resist.
Submerged beneath the waters of Vobster Quay you`ll find a fascinating array of attractions waiting to be discovered. These include the wreck of an large aircraft, a 42ft motorcruiser plus a number of former quarry buildings including the massive crushing works - a towering structure the size of a 2-storey house - and even a spooky subterranean tunnel that`s not for the faint hearted!
Diving at Vobster Quay offers excellent value. Unlike traditional diving centres, we don`t charge `per dive` - you merely pay an entry fee onto the site and for the rest of the day, you`re free to make as many dives as you desire. Below you`ll find details of the entry fees. Please note that these fees are subject to change without notice.
For regular visitors to Vobster Quay, we offer entry at a discounted rate via our Quay Membership Scheme. For just £25 per year, members gain access to a host of special offers and promotions including a reduced entry fee of just £10.00 per day.
All visitors are required to pay a £10 deposit upon entry. Upon receipt of your deposit, you will be issued an entry `tag`. This tag allows us to monitor the number of visitors to ensure that all visitors are safely accounted for when the site closes. Your deposit will be returned when leaving the site upon return of your entry tag.

Whether you need a buckle or a complete set of dive gear, our knowledgeable shop staff can help you make the right buying decision for your needs and budget. We stock all the best brands including Beaver, Oceanic, Buddy, Lumb Bros, Greenforce, Sea&Sea, Scubapro, Mares, Fourth Element and Weezle.
Don`t forget that we`re also an authorised dealer for Halcyon - the ultimate in DIR diving equipment. You don`t need to be a techie to appreciate the quality and design of Halcyon`s market-leading range of wing systems, ultra-bright HID umbilical torches and diving accessories. Sport divers and DIR-diehards alike know good kit when they see it and it doesn`t come much better than Halcyon.


Our shop staff are passionate about the equipment we sell and dive many of the products for themselves. If you`re just getting started in diving, our on-staff instructors will be happy to guide you through the options available to ensure that you buy the kit that is right for the sort of diving you want to do. Vobster Quay has its own compressor station offering air, enriched air nitrox & trimix cylinder fills to a maximum of 300-bar. With eight filling whips available, waiting times are kept to a minimum. All our air is either double or - for nitrox fills - triple-filtered and is tested regularly for impurities so you can be sure you`ll always get a fill of the highest quality with no nasty impurities.

You don`t need to be superfit or superhuman to learn to dive - just about anyone who`s in good health and reasonably fit can learn. Providing you`re over the age of 12, can swim and don`t suffer from or have a history of any disorder that may cause complications underwater, you`re sure to be accepted onto one of our many diving courses. If in doubt, consult your doctor.
Entry-level courses typically take place over two full weekends. The first weekend is spent learning the essential skills and techniques you`ll need to become a scuba diver in the safety and comfort of a confined water environment. Each and every skill is demonstrated slowly and clearly by your instructor, allowing you to master essential diving skills and techniques at your own pace.
Once you`ve mastered these basic skills, you`ll take the plunge into our own 36-acre lake to discover the wonders of diving for yourself! Accompanied by your instructor and fully-trained divemasters there to ensure your safety and enjoyment at all times, you`ll practice your new skills in a real open water diving environment.
Of course there`s more to diving than simply getting wet! To further prepare you for the diving adventures that await you, most courses require home study backed up by a series of theory review sessions with your instructor. These ensure that you`ve taken onboard essential principles. After successfully completing a simple exam, you`ll be a certified diver qualified to dive anywhere in the world.
