Company description We are a PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Course (IDC) Centre. We offer a range of courses to cater for divers of all levels. We also provide other speciality courses from the RYA (Power Boating), IANTD/TDI (Technical) and BS-AC (Skill Development). Which course would suit you? If your intention is to dive predominantly in the UK, we offer complete courses, qualifying you to dive anywhere, including with our own charters. Then, how about diving in the warmer waters of the Red of Med seas? - we can offer escorted holidays with training options included. Alternatively, the PADI Open Water Referral course may suit you. Simply do the theory sessions and pool work with us `at home`, and then complete your open water dives at your holiday destination. All courses are run directly from our premises, with heated pool facilities nearby.
Wittering Divers Ltd`s highly experienced team draws on knowledge and expertise that has been gained over many years. Our dive centre can cater for every need in recreational diving and snorkelling, with training, the best equipment, boat charter, holidays both at home and over distant seas.
Our ever enthusiastic team is always on hand to give professional and friendly advice. Open all year round, we can guide you through equipment purchases, choice of local dives, distant holiday sites, the critters that you saw and diver training; offering courses from beginner through technical and including all instructor levels.
We carry a wide range of stock in our retail section. Here you will find a huge variety of premium equipment - advice is always available! We also have an in-house technician who is a highly qualified, manufacturer recognised and experienced engineer. He is available to advise on servicing and repairs to equipment.
We have two boats: Big Blue II - 7.8m MCA DOT approved Cat4, Storm Force 8 8m MCA DOT approved Cat3.
On site we have a fully-equipped workshop for servicing most makes of diving equipment and we are also able to repair and modify wet and dry suits.
Because we are a top-rated PADI 5-star IDC Dive Centre, you can be assured that we have met strict professional standards and can offer PADI courses at all levels - from beginner to instructor. Wittering Divers is able to offer courses from the following training organisations: PADI; IANTD; TDI; RYA.

IANTD offers a range of technical courses for the more experienced diver, such as EANx (NITROX), Advanced EANx Diver, Deep Diver,Extended Range, Normoxic Trimix, Full Trimix, EANx Blender & Trimix Blender.

TDI offer a range of technical courses for the more experienced diver, such as Nitrox Diver Course, Advanced Nitrox Course, Deco Procedures Course, Extended Range Course, Entry Level Trimix Course, Nitrox Gas Blender Course and Adv. Gas Blender Course.

Wittering Divers is also a RYA recognised teaching establishment able to offer instruction in RYA Powerboat handling level 1, Powerboat handling level 2, Advanced Powerboat Level 3, International Certificates of Competence and Marine First Aid.

Location description: Discover this unique opportunity to dive not only at high altitude but also under the ice!
Explore the crystal clear water and fantastic ice formations whilst taking in the beautiful views of Austrian Alps.Glittering peaks and crystal clear waters surround scenic.
Weyregg and Lake Attersee at 23km long is the largest lake in upper Austria containing plentiful fish and plantlife and around 30 dive sites, including a small wreck.
The ICE DIVER Course will include topics such as reasons and opportunities for ice diving, equipment considerations, equipping the diver for ice diving, ice diving procedures, equipment problems and management, and many others. Dives will be done as a group working as support personnel, divers, tenders, and safety divers. Each diver will conduct 3 ice dives.
Under the ice divers will learn to control buoyancy, navigate under the ice, and keep in contact with the lead diver and tenders via line pulls. Divers are expected to supply all standard SCUBA equipment in good working condition. If regulators, BCDs, etc. have not been serviced within a year,
servicing may be needed before the course. Standard gear must include pressure gauge, depth gauge, compass, timing device/computer,dive knife, and a redundant air source (i.e.doubles, pony bottle, spare air). Drysuits are recommended, but not required. Many divers do dive under the ice comfortably in wetsuits.

The diving is aimed at people with above advanced level experience. Go on treat yourself to an early Christmas present, and shake of those winter blues.
