Company description Our boat - Nauticat is a 33ft Blyth catamaran, built to D.O.T. specification and conforming to Marine Safety Agency requirements, she is licensed to carry 12 passengers + 2 crew up to 60 miles from any safe haven. Powered by her twin Iveco engines, each producing 300hp, gives a boat cruising speed of around 14 knots and a top boat speed of around 20 knots.
Electronic aids include two GPS`s & one differential GPS systems, PC / plotter, two depth sounders, two VHF radio`s and a radar.
For the French & Isle of Wight trips, and the Eastbourne weeks, there will be a onboard compressor available, giving a charging rate of 14cfm to a pressure of 232bar.
Safety equipment includes two Oxygen Therapy Units, always ready for emergency use and for which there is no charge, a 1st Aid Kit is also carried. Two life-rafts and life jackets for 14 people, and a full flare pack is carried at all times. Whilst on the boat 3rd party insurance cover up to
Location description: Brighton Marina is well established as one of the largest marinas in Europe, its prime position between Selsey Bill and Beachy Head gives charter boats easy access to the many hundreds of wrecks dotted along the Sussex coastline.
With such a large number of wrecks to choose from, the diving around Brighton is proving to be extremely popular, there are wrecks of all shapes and sizes catering for all grades of diver, from the novice to the experienced technical/tri-mix diver.
Shallow inshore wrecks include: Clodmore, City of Brisbane, Lancer 2, Inverclyde, Steam Trawler, Pentrych, Miown, Vale of Leven.
30-40 metre wrecks include: TR Thompsom, Ashford, Braunton, Mira, Fortuna, Vasco, City of Waterford, Ramsgarth, HMS Kerryado.
40-50 metre wrecks include: HMS Minion, Quail, Moldavia, Nyon, Seaford Ferry, Molsley, Candia, UC65, Northeaster, Warilda.
50-Tri-mix wrecks include: Lanfranc, Pagenturm, Aracataca, Glen Arm Head, Aristos, Duke of Buccleugh, Marga, Gull, Holmforce, U-Boat.
The marina itself has a large selection of bars and restaurants, a cinema, supermarket, shopping square and bowling alley there is also the David Lloyd Centre, for those who are members. There are hotels and guest houses within 5-10 minutes of the marina, and there is also a camp site directly above the marina itself. The town centre is only 15 minutes away, where there is an abundance of night life, clubs of all description, restaurants and other things to amuse.
Sovereign Harbour, Eastbourne, has fast become one of the largest marina developments in the UK. It`s growth over the past 7 years has been enormous, it now provides visitors, whether it be by land or sea, with access to some of the finest diving on the south coast of England.
Between Beachy Head and Dungeness, there are wrecks of all shapes and sizes, including liners, merchant ships, naval warships and submarines, all in very accessible depths, many of which are rarely dived.
Probably one of the nicest things about diving around Eastbourne is that most of your diving is between 20-40mtrs. For the more experienced diver, there are some exceptionally good wrecks in the 40-55mtr range and for the Tri-mix diver, up to 70mtrs.
Shallow inshore wrecks include: HMS Ariadne, Duchess, Rio Parana, Oceana, The 1906, Lalen Mendi, Grabwell, Gold Coin, Swale.
30-40 metre wrecks include: Alaunia, SY Argonaut, Branksome Chine, Donna Isobel, Lisbon, Glenartney, Gun Wreck, Hoheweg, Braunton.
40-50metre wrecks include: UC65, Seaford Ferry, Caleb Sprague, Emerald, Deep Tens, Carlisle Castle, Storra, Jan Brons, Two Wrecks.
Accommodation is available in the form of static caravans or if you prefer, there are also lots of B&B`s and Hotels within 10 minutes of the harbour.
