Company description We offer a personal and objective service to take the unknown out of buying a boat. We are here to advise you on the items you need when you buy a new Ribeye or Ribtec.

Ocean Quay Sea School
We offer a variety of practical and shore based courses which can be taken onboard your own boat, one of our school boats or in our well equipped classroom. We also offer training for the ICC certificate, bespoke packages and a professional delivery service.
Once you have decided which course you would like to take feel free to call us and discuss any specific requirements, availability and advice on what would be the most appropriate course for you. Our professional staff will be only too pleased to help and you can be assured that your safety and enjoyment are our top priorities from initial contact all the way through to the end of your chosen course

Course Details
RYA Powerboat Courses
Level 1 Course
A one day practical introduction to boating techniques, for launching and recovering a boat from a road trailer, everyday boat handling and the use of safety equipment. No previous experience is required but a minimum age of 12 is compulsory. Candidates under the age of 16 will be issued an endorsed certificate on successful completion.
Level 2 Course - ICC
This two day course will teach all you need to know for self-sufficient powerboating at a basic level. Course includes launching, mooring, anchoring and recovery plus all the boat driving skills required for basic competence in a powerboat. On successful completion you will be self-sufficient in powerboating within the right conditions and aware of your own limitations plus those of the craft. Once again a minimum age of 12 is compulsory. Candidates under the age of 16 will be issued an endorsed Level 2 certificate on successful completion. This course also forms the basis of the International Certificate of Competence (ICC). Unfortunately The ICC certificate cannot be issued to under 16’s
Advanced Powerboat Course
A two day course for leisure and professional boaters wishing to undertake more adventurous trips in small powerboats. The course includes pilotage, navigation and boat handling techniques for planing boats in coastal waters by day and night. A minimum age of 17 is compulsory. Candidates should be competent to the standard of the National Powerboat Certificate Level 2 (coastal) with knowledge of navigation and chart work to the level of Day Skipper Shore based certificate.
RYA Motor Cruising Courses
This two day course covers basic boat handling, engine checks and safety. It is ideal for the new owner who is conscious of the difficulty and potential hazards of boat handling in the marina.
Day Skipper Course - ICC
The four day (or two weekends) practical course gives you a chance to take charge on short passages under instruction with plenty of advice and help from the instructor. There are two courses, tidal and non - tidal. The course may now be combined with the theory course to make it nine days.
Coastal Skipper Course
The course consists of skippered passages by each of the trainees in a whole variety of situations.
