Location description: The landscape, flora and fauna of Norway although similar to Scotland is on a far larger scale meaning you dont have to be a diver to enjoy Norway. Every night the boat will tie up at a pier with great views and areas for both walking and bird watching. The Norwegian people are some of the friendliest you will meet, and are more than willing to spend time talking to you.Bergen, is a city which boasts great night life and plenty of activities to entertain. Some of these include a funicular railway, bungee jumping, gondolas and countless shops to browse.
Both our boats pride themselves on there attention to detail and top class service, after all this is not just a diving experdition but your holiday. Therefore costs will include 3 meals per day, air, accomidation and a guarantee that every location visited will be a major talking point.
Some worda about Norwegian diving:
The Norwegian diving experience is second to none. You will be diving in the land of the midnight sun with dramatic scenery to take your breath away. With massive cliffs and amazing drop offs up to 300m. The Dundarg will be joining the M.V.Gaelic Rose on its 2nd trip to Norway.
In 1999 the Gaelic Rose experienced fantastic weather and was able to check out many wrecks and dropp offs available to dive. The waters of Norway are almost virgin to dive trips so the wrecks are virtually intact. With no current and sheltered waters it makes these sites easily available for all. The spectacular cliffs make for amazing underwater dop offs which boast an abundance of plant and marine life. A large percentage of which are indigenous to the Norwegain waters.
There are many wrecks available to dive, from small fishing boats to large W.W.2 vessels. Four of the most spectacular vessels were well over 6000 tonnes in weight and were involved in full scale battle. The wrecks are undamaged by water movement as there is very little current. However there is evidence of war combat, in the shape of rocket attack and bombing. FERNDALE, THE PARROT, THE OLDENBURG and FRANKENVOLD, all show major strucural damage, having been subject to enemy attack.
