Company description We offer you the opportunity to discover the wonderful underwater world of Cyprus. Guided by our professional PADI and BSAC registered instructors you will discover the delights of diving in this Mediterranean paradise. At Dive Point we offer you, comprehensive and friendly tuition in globally recognised courses and diving experiences.
The newly refurbished, family run dive centre is open all year round and has a wide variety of diving equipment with big savings on U.K prices! Also we can supply made-to-measure wet and dry suits.
If you are already a qualified diver, would like to learn, or even just to ``have a try`` then we can look after you. We cater for small groups and provide individual care and attention, courses can be tailored made to your individual needs and time schedules. If you have already done some training, and want to complete your course in warmer waters (we don’t blame you!), then we can help. Diving ratios are no more than one instructor to three divers.
Dive Point is also a member of the (I.A.H.D) International Association for Handicapped Divers.
With your first underwater breath, the door opens to a different world. Once through that door, your life is never the same. The underwater world is full of adventure and mystery. In any part of the world amid other peoples and cultures, you will discover sunken ships, wrecks, and nature. You can see more in ten minutes under the water than you could in ten hours in the most unspoiled wilderness above.
To learn to dive you need to be over the age of 10 and in good health.
Children aged from 8 to 10 years old can go “Bubblemaking” to a depth of 2m in the swimming pool and sea. They will be supervised by a qualified and experienced instructor on a 1 : 1 ratio. The bubblemaker will have the opportunity of trying scuba equipment, and having digital photographs taken of their underwater experience.
We will supply you with all the necessary scuba equipment and instruction, all you need to bring is a towel, swimming gear and a large bottle of water. When you are comfortable with the equipment and skills we will proceed with a shallow dive and as you gain confidence we will take you to a deeper depth of about 5 meters. (maximum depth for this dive is 12 meters)
This is where the fun starts, as you discover the ease of breathing underwater and the feeling of weightlessness, we will venture into a realm where everything looks, feels and sounds slightly different. Swimming slowly through this underwater world, we will see marine life of all shapes and sizes, and interesting rock formations, caves and gullies including ancient pottery to name but a few. Your dive underwater will depend on how fast you breath the air in the tank but the whole experience should take about 2 ½ hours, it will be the most exciting, thrilling and most memorable experience of your life.
Location description: We dive in some of the many remote, and beautiful locations along the Cyprus coastline, both shore and boat dives. We arrange dives to suit our customers level and ability, from easy shallow dives to deep and wreck dives, including the famous ``Zenobia`` one of the top ten wrecks in the world. Below are just some of our regular dive sites, some are only dived by ourselves.
*Sea Caves (Depth ranges 2m to 18m)
A nice, relaxing dive for beginners and experienced alike. Starting from the shallows, we work our way to a maximum of 7m. Ancient terracotta pots lie everywhere
*Amphitheatre (Depth ranges 3m to 20m)
A natural formation that gives the appearance of an underwater amphitheatre. Going down in steps from 5m to 9.5m. Pipe-fish, octopus and cuttlefish are regularly seen here
*White River (Depth ranges 3m to 17m)
The rock formations underwater are amazing. There are swim throughs, tunnels and chimneys waiting to be explored.
*The Channel (Depth ranges 6m to 16m)
A stunning new site, discovered by ourselves. After entering through a narrow channel we swim beside a long wall, through a cave and up and over the wall. Simply stunning
*Cythianna (Depth ranges 2m to 14m)
Entry to this dive site is via a shallow sea pool, explore the many rock formations and swim through a cave. Plenty of marine life to be seen here.
*Other Sites
Some discovered by ourselves and only dived by ourselves. Explore wrecks, caves, tunnels and gullies, see a variety of marine life, ancient pottery e.t.c
*Manijin Island
Depth ranges 8m to 26m)
A scenic island dive site that can be visited from shore and by dive boat. The south side of this small island offers divers the opportunity to swim along cliff faces, through caves, and swim throughs. The north side is a shallower dive site, with more opportunities to explore swim throughs, caves and see the abundance of marine life and ancient pottery.
*Slipway
Stride entry into this dive site, swim through several caves, along a large overhang, descending over many large boulders, exploring the many gullies until we reach our maximum depth. At our maximum depth we continue to explore many interesting features slowly returning to shallower depth and returning to our exit point.
*The Stage
Abundant opportunities to explore along many walls, gullies and overhangs. Porous rock in the stage allows sunlight to shine through creating the effect of stage lighting. Pipefish, cleaner shrimps and sea cucumber are among many of the marine life found at the stage.
*Wreck of the Achilleas
(Max depth 12m)
A Greek freighter that exploded and sank in 1975. The wreck is broken up into 3 main sections. The main feature is the stern section with a bronze propeller, which is still in place. This flat bottom dive site has an abundance of visible marine life.
