The Oman Dive Center offers all PADI scuba diving courses. From discover scuba diving to divemaster and instructor, each diver can learn at his level.
The Centre runs dive trips daily as long as a minimum of two divers are booked. For the first dives of the day, the boats leave at 9 a.m. returning to the Centre by around 1.30 p.m. after completing 2 dives at different sites. The boats leave again at 2.30 for one dive returning to the Centre by around 4.30 p.m.
Night dives are run once every 2 weeks for a minimum of 4 divers. The boat leaves at around 6 p.m. during the winter months and 7 p.m. for the rest of the year. Please, note that the minimum qualification for night dives is PADI Advanced Open Water Diver, or equivalent.
All divers are requested to be at the Dive Centre at least half an hour before boat departure.
We organise every morning boat trips to go and observe the many dolphins living near the coast of Muscat. Commonly seen the whole year around in Muscat is the Common, Spinner, Bottlenose and Indo-Pacific Humpback dolphins.
In Decembre till February Whales pass by the coast. Sperm Whales or Humpback Whales have been several times spotted by our boats. Around 95% of our trips see dolphins, so if it is your dream to see Dolphins, we will make it true!
A light Breakfast is served during your trip to make your start of the day even more enjoyable.
Location description: Bandar Jussa provides 5 excellent dive sites with wonderful corals and boulders to swim around. Because of the shallow depth (up to 15 meters) this site is very suitable for training and night dives. Plenty of cuttlefish, spiny lobster and the odd turtle have been spotted. This is our house reef. Situated at the end of the bay only 3 minutes away from the Dive Centre.
Just 30 minutes away from us, Fahal Island offers a number of dive sites with an amazing diversity. It has the greatest variety of coral in one area in the whole of Muscat, and the dive sites are mainly reefs. The maximum depth is about 30 metres. Just East of North Bay there is a wreck of a tugboat at about 30 metres with a concrete barge situated shallower and close by. Abundant marine life, black tip reef sharks, rays and turtles are met regularly during the dives. Two offshore reefs give ample opportunity to see large ocean-going creatures, which sometimes include whale shark, and unusual coral, which are only seen at these sites.
1 Hour away from ODC, the wall at Ras Abu Daoud varies in depth from 8 to 30 metres. Here, you’ll find a delightful swim-through where you will literally have to push the fish out of the way! Your second dive is usually the Quriyat wreck ``MS Mimoona``, lying in 8-16metres. Cargo is still identifiable and spread over a large area. In the wheelhouse you can often find the some enormous resident honey comb moray eels. Schools of fish abound, particularly barracuda and occasionally the rare frog fish can be seen.
