Company description ACTIVITIES / Scuba Diving
Arctic Kingdom provides the Arctic diving know-how necessary for the diving experience of a lifetime.
From the beginning, the dominant focus of Arctic Kingdom expeditions has been scuba diving. Diving adds another dimension to the arctic world. Swimming with aquatic animals in their element and exploring the hidden nether-regions of icebergs are truly unparalleled experiences. For any diver, whether seasoned pro or just-trained novice, this is the adventure of a lifetime.
Because of the ever changing nature of the arctic conditions, the moving animals, the time it takes to suit up and the water temperature, it is not common for anybody to dive more than twice in a day. Normally we only dive for roughly half of any expedition.
Divers and non-divers alike may be interested in snorkeling, either as an alternative to or in conjunction with Scuba diving.
ACTIVITIES / Ice Diving
Ice diving offers many beautiful environments and challenges far beyond the frozen lakes that most ice divers are trained on. Whether diving under arctic sea ice between ice stalactites, inside glacier pools, alongside towering walls of ice, exploring ice caves in icebergs or winding through passageways under piles of rough ice there are many exceedingly varied and breathtaking dives. Life abounds under arctic ice where walls are covered in sea anemones, whales venture underneath to find breathing holes and the Greenland Shark, the fourth largest shark in the world, cruises the depths in search of carrion.
ACTIVITIES / Snorkeling
Amazing in-water experiences are not for divers alone. Snorkeling is a simpler, more universally accessible option that provides ample opportunities for underwater sightseeing and animal encounters.
In some instances, snorkeling is the best underwater option. Whales, for example, are best seen while snorkeling rather than diving, since the air bubbles created by scuba gear frighten the whales. Non-divers can snorkel with whales without any training by floating at the surface in a dry suit, which acts like an enormous life preserver. Divers will also normally shed tanks and do likewise. This experience is accessible to all who wish to parcticipate.
Picture yourself swimming with an eighty-ton Bowhead Whale. Imagine sharing an ice floe with a Polar Bear. Arctic Kingdom runs expeditions for the modern explorer. Our voyages bring you into direct contact with nature`s extremes, whether you`d rather admire the view from the top of an iceberg you`ve just climbed, or encounter a two-ton Walrus on its home turf. For every expedition, Arctic Kingdom provides the knowledge, support gear and expertise needed for an intimate encounter with one of nature`s last unspoiled frontiers.
Arctic Kingdom is founded upon exploration experience going back more than a decade, and is committed to bringing you to the right place at the right time for the perfect Arctic encounter. We individually tailor each of our expeditions to suit the unique, pristine, and wild arctic environment, with trips that are continuously changing in accord with the untamed Arctic and the animals that inhabit it.

Graham Dickson
Expedition Leader
Graham Dickson is the chief expedition leader for Arctic Kingdom Marine Expeditions, the world`s only company to specialize in the animals of the arctic and to have successfully lead diving expeditions for all of the arctic`s marine animals. Graham has been diving for over a decade and is a PADI Master Instructor. He has a driving desire to explore the arctic regions where there is such a great range of diverse and exotic animals, historically significant locations and unique geography. He successfully led the first sport diving expedition to Nunavut to dive with walrus in 1999 and has since led expeditions for Bowhead whales, Narwhals, Belugas, Polar Bear and the Greenland Shark. Graham has climbed rock and ice for almost as long as he has been diving and led the first ice climbing expedition to Nunavut to climb the icebergs of Pond Inlet in the summer of 2000. These adventures have been featured by the European Space Agency for the cutting edge use of satellite imagery, in Up Here and Explore Magazine for iceberg climbing and for the many arctic animals in Sport Diver, Sport Diving (Australia), Diver (Canada), Dive (UK), Ocean Planet, Advanced Diver, Shark Diver, Japan Times and Canadian Geographic.
