Company description
The Diver Certification Board of Canada is a federally incorporated not-for-profit body which operates under the authority of a number of agreements with the National Energy Board, the Canada-Newfoundland Offshore Petroleum Board and the Canada-Nova Scotia Offshore Petroleum Board.
Originally set up to replace the offshore diver certification regime of the National Energy Board and the offshore petroleum boards, the Diver Certification Board of Canada is now the only national body which certifies offshore and inshore commercial divers in Canada.
The Diver Certification Board of Canada offers certification to commercial divers and supervisors who can demonstrate that they have sufficient training and experience to enable them to meet the competency requirements of the appropriate section of the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) Competency Standard for Diving Operations (CSA Standard Z275.4).
The Diver Certification Board of Canada accredits commercial diver training organizations which train to the competency levels described in CSA Standard Z275.4. The DCBC also accredits diver assessment organizations which can assess the competency of commercial divers, provide training where necessary, and recommend the diver for certification.
Our Vision:
The Board’s vision is of an internationally recognized national certification regime for the professional diving industry guided by various stakeholders, who are dedicated to the development and enhancement of the Canadian professional diving industry, without personal gain or profit.
Our Mission:
The Board’s mission is to provide a national, Canadian diving certification regime for professional diving personnel, based on a single national standard of competencies, in order to enhance industry safety by demonstrating personal competency.
