Company description MARLIN DIVING ENTERPRISES INC, founded 1980, has operated the divecenter at the VIPI Lodge on since 1988. They provide one of the safest dive environments available and are sanctioned by ANDI, CMAS, and VIT.. Ingo Vollmer, who runs the dive center,has been in the diving business since 1976. He is an Instructor and Instructor trainer for scuba, Nitrox, and Rebreather diving, he is a highly regarded underwater photographer ( see Ingo`s picture Gallery ) and an outdoor enthusiast.

The dive center is equipped with S80 aluminum tanks, 5 sets of rental equipment and a 350 ltr.compressor. The dive center also has a complete workshop for repairs and preparations and a small retail store to make last minute equipment purchases.
On board the dive boat ``Tury``, a 33 foot Cape Islander especially built for dive operations, we have a head, a 250 ltr. Air compressor, ample storage for the dive equipment and storage for dry bags in the pilot house. The vessel is also equipped with Oxygen, a first aid kit and all other safety equipment required by Canadian Coast Guard regulations.
All divers are asked to show their certification card, logbook and a medical examination completed in the last 2 years. Instruction can be provided for non-divers. SAFE DIVING IS OUR MISSION --our dive instructors are trained and certified in all emergency procedures.
Always bring warm clothes, even in summer, and something to drink and eat. The water temperature ranges, depending on currents and air temperature. In July, during our warmest air temperature, the water can be under 10 degree C. Our warmest water temperature is in August when temperatures can reach 20 degrees C at the surface. At depth waters tend to remain rather crisp even in August. Always bring a thick wetsuit or better a dry suit. Unlimited shore diving is available with some easy access, scenic divesites.
Charters are scheduled to leave the Wharf every day at 10 am, with exception for diver requests, the weather and the waterconditions, and return between 1:00 and 5:00 pm.

Location description: We are the ANDI Facility I - 244. Since 1994 Marlin has operated with SafeAir / NitrOx. We are using open circuit as well as semi closed and fully closed rebreathers. With our ANDI partial pressure filling panel we offer NitrOx/Safeair fillings from 32% up to 60% If you wish to use enriched gases you have to show your certification card from one of the known certification organization. The following displays our filling rates:

Why would I want to use SafeAir instead of air ? The major advantage of diving with SafeAir instead of air is increased safety and protection from decompression sickness. Specifically: No decompression time limits (NDL) are significantly extended which adds an extra safety margin and/or increases allowable bottom times. Decompression time is reduced if NDL`s are exceeded. There is a reduction of Nitrogen`s narcotic effect and post-dive fatigue levels. After a dive, residual nitrogen in the body is reduced which increases the available bottom time on repetitive dives, decreases surface intervals, or both. This also reduces the possible risks associated with flying after diving.
