Thunder Country Diving is based on the premise that the customer comes first. We strive to provide the best service in the region. Here you can learn to SCUBA dive in a safe and enjoyable manner. We are a full service dive center and can assist you with all of your diving needs.

Established in 1971, Thunder Country Diving offers all levels of certification, whether you are just getting started with your initial certification course or you are an experienced diver looking for specialty or professional level training.
Thunder Country Diving is an SSI Authorized Dealer and trains SSI Certified Divers.
Thunder Country Diving also opens its doors to those that want to learn First Aid and CPR. We have two large open concept class rooms for individual or group sessions.

Scuba Rangers
Eight to twelve year olds can join in the fun of diving too!
Learning to scuba dive is an investment in the betterment of your life. The complete package of theory instruction, practicum instruction, manual, study guide, dive log, mouthpiece, rental equipment, open water dives, and bumper sticker costs $450.00 with taxes. After all of that you are a certified Open Water Diver and can travel the oceans of the world.
We learn our theory in a classroom inside the store, and afterwards we apply all the learned theory to the practical pool session at the Lakehead University Pool.
We want you to be safe and comfortable regardless of how long you`ve been diving. Even if you are a new diver and wish to practice your skills, you are welcome to join us for our pool sessions.
Location description: Open Water Diver -
Under the guidance of a professional SSI Instructor, you`ll develop the knowledge and skills necessary to enjoy a lifetime of underwater exploration.
In multiple pool and open water sessions, you`ll practice scuba skills with SSI`s exclusive Comfort Through Repetition teaching method.
Selecting the best diving equipment for your needs and budget
Maintaining and adjusting your equipment to extend its life and improve performance

Dive Control Specialist
SSI Dive Control Specialist is our initial dive leadership level, and is considered by many as the ``fun`` leadership rating. It`s fun and satisfying because you can do more than any other entry-level dive leader.
You can do more because you receive both dive master and assistant instructor training in the SSI Dive Control Specialist course. With other agencies, these are separate courses. You will study advanced physics, physiology and decompression theory. You`ll practice advanced rescue techniques, fine-tune your diving skills and learn the basics of teaching.
Open Water Instructor
How about sharing the joy and magic of diving instead of drowning in a sea of paper and landlocked reality?
Become an SSI Instructor and work in an office that 3/4 of the world. There`s a high demand for full and part-time SSI Instructors at retail shops and exotic resorts.
Graduates of the SSI program are not just teachers, they know the industry, the business, how to sell dive trips and equipment, and how to produce confident, comfortable divers. This makes SSI Instructors extremely marketable!
- Scuba Rangers -
Scuba Rangers is an activities club for kids 8-12. By learning to snorkel and scuba dive in a swimming pool, kids build confidence, discipline and respect for the water, while setting and accomplishing goals, and having fun! There are five basic Ranger achievement levels with recognition for completing each level, and lots of specialty levels to keep kids active and motivated for
a long time
Specialties
Rangers can also enjoy hands-on specialty activities, such as Night Ranger (use underwater lights), Navigation Ranger (use compasses), and Equipment Ranger (set up equipment).
