Waterline’s owners or staff have used virtually every product we sell, in some cases, for may years. We’ll give you the benefit of our knowledge.
Waterline believes in carrying the largest and most diverse stock of any similar store in the Greater Metropolitan area. Sometimes we have to order something in, but we try hard not to have that happen.
As one of the fastest growing and most exciting recreational activities, SCUBA diving has much to offer and for anyone new to it, much to learn. We’d like to guide you in getting the information and programs that are right for you. In the menu on the left, we have some categories to help you but if you don’t see the information you need, don’t hesitate to call us or visit our store and talk to one of our dive professionals.
Every month we have fun and informative evenings that is your chance to learn more about this exciting and growing activity.
The entire family can participate at the same time, regardless of age, skill and physical fitness. In fact, snorkeling is one of the easiest, most fun and most popular ways for you and your family to enjoy the underwater world. And if you`re planning a trip south this year with your family, now is the perfect time to learn or refine your snorkeling skills.
But there`s nothing to it, we`ve heard often. The truth is, there are a number of skills to learn which will make snorkeling easier and more enjoyable. And having the right equipment makes a great difference.
Waterline`s scuba group travel program has something for everyone; we`ve expanded our program to include three long-weekend trips a year (to Nassau, Florida and Bermuda) PLUS two week-long trips.
In each case, the Waterline package price includes return airfare (on regularly scheduled airlines whenever possible), accommodation, all departure and airport taxes, insurance, hotel and dive staff gratuities and diving. In some cases, different diving packages are available.
Waterlines trips like our courses hold no surprises. You pay for almost everything before you leave, including all your diving and your hotel and dive staff gratuities. Plus you have the attention of at least one tour leader and often an instructor as well. This allows divers to complete their certification or advance their training with instructors they already know.
Details and pricing for each trip are established as far in advance as possible. In some cases, an estimate must be used, as airlines do not finalize pricing as far in advance as we book our trips.
Location description: Waterline offers a mentoring program for new divers or divers who are not confident about the type of diving planned for the weekend.
The program starts with the diver completing a form, which is reviewed by Waterline staff instructors and the divemaster scheduled for the weekend. Solutions are identified to meet your needs. There is a small cost for this service, but it’s a wonderful opportunity to improve your skills and confidence and still attempt more difficult dives.
For example, if you’re interested in a dive on which there is often a fairly swift current, and you don’t have experience with current, or haven’t dived in one for awhile, you can register for a Mentor for the weekend who will help you through your dives, so you have a good time AND improve your skills and confidence.
Certain dive sites will not be available to some divers who are not involved in the Mentoring Program.
Cost depends on what is required to provide you with the service you need and to offset the Mentors’ expenses.
Waterline Sports has been running recreational diving weekends in Ontario for more than 10 years. In that time, we’ve develop our list of favorites, and have found the best way we know to ensure you experience great diving in great locations. We can’t control Mother Nature, but we’ll do our best to take care of everything else. This year’s schedule is on the reverse.
WATERLINE WILL...
...book the boat charter, prepare the information packages, find accommodation (but not book it), provide the onsite kit (including first aid and oxygen kits, shelter, cooler etc) and take care of the divemaster’s expenses. We also include a pool refresher on the Thursday before the weekend. This weekend is mandatory for new divers and recommended for all others. It’s also a chance to try out any rentals you will be using on the weekend.
Our job is to meet your needs, whether you’re an experienced diver with hundreds of dives, or a brand new diver on his/her first dive post certification. If you don’t need our special assistance, that’s fine; but if you are a new diver or you don’t have a lot of confidence, we’re there to help.
Waterline appoints a divemaster for each recreational weekend, who could be an instructor, assistant instructor or divemaster. This person knows the dive destination well and is responsible for the execution of the weekend’s diving.
Waterline will find an appropriate motel/hotel in the are and will . This information will be available from Waterline, but each diver is responsible for booking his/her own rooms directly with the hotel.
Divers must complete the appropriate waivers and attend the orientation/pool session on Thursday evening. This is in your best interests, and allows the divemaster to have a better idea of your needs for the weekend.
