Company description

The PADI SCUBA instruction is the Harvard of diving education and Adventure Divers is where you obtain that education.
All instructors are full time, not part time.
Weekend class cost the same as evening classes. Check out dives off a boat, not in a -lake or spring.

Adventure Scuba Divers training is the most flexible and dynamic offered in Mississippi. Group sessions are available as well as individual training to meet your specific needs. Ever thought about diving as a career? We can train you to become a Certified DiveMaster and then help place you at some of the most exotic dive resorts around the world!
Overview of Training Levels
There are several different levels of diving certification. The first and the one everyone has to start with is called the Open Water Certification. SCUBA training has evolved over the years to a sport with an injury rate that compares to bowling. There are also several different agencies that can certify you in SCUBA. I was certified through SSI when I first learned to dive and quickly switched over to the PADI agency upon taking my Advanced Open Water class. What a huge difference it made. PADI trains almost 70 percent of every diver that gets certified in the entire world. Coke doesn`t have that kind of market share, and PADI has obtained this for a good reason. Level of training; no one in the diving industry spends more time and money on learning how to teach diving than PADI. Being a good diver does not make a good instructor. At Adventure Divers, we believe that teaching diving should be a FULL TIME JOB. Not something done on nights and week-ends by part timers. We never have and never will put you in the hands of a part time instructor, who may only teach one or two classes a year. We will also never put you in a class with more than 8 students. See how many dive shops can make that promise to you and LIVE UP TO THAT PROMISE! We will also never do your check out dive in an undesirable location, ie...cold water spring or quarry. You are going to be diving in the ocean so that is where we train you, off a boat and in salt water. Did you know there are instructor teaching today that have never even been diving off a boat in the ocean? Sad but true. Another promise is when you deal with Adventure Divers you will always deal with the OWNER! Never will you hear someone here say, ``I don`t know, I`ll have to check with the owner.`` As far as I`m concerned, when you dive with us, you become part of our family, and hence a co-owner.

Only the highest quality brands are sold by Adventure
After getting quality instruction nothing is more important than the quality of the gear that you are wearing. At the depth of 80 feet is not the time or place to discover that the ``bargain regulator`` you bought was really no bargain...but unreliable and not dependable...the last thing a diver needs!
Adventure Inventories Only High Quality Equipment
Adventure Divers & Watersports, Inc. is unique in its approach to teaching, travel, and offering equipment. Classes no longer need to take weeks to accomplish. The old way of teaching diving is to have you come back to the store week after week, in hopes that the more you come in the more you will purchase. This way of teaching is still in effect in a few places and students quickly catch on to what is happening. Unqualified and unmotivated instructors who have no real tie to the school also wear students out quickly; simply reading the material to the students and telling them boring stories involving their dive stories is more the norm than the exception. This too causes many to simply finish the class, never to dive again.
Dive trips offered that have lots of hidden cost and are to less than desirable locations, as well as a hard sell for overpriced and many, many times completely unneeded equipment also take lots of new divers out of a very exciting sport.
We will never put you in the hands of an unmotivated, unqualified instructor. Classes are thorough, but prompt. If someone needs extra time, we bring them back, if you don’t, you move on. Only high quality, reasonably priced dive equipment is offered to the students (we call them owners) at Adventure Divers. I would never let you be embarrassed by getting on a dive boat with a lot of high priced but ridiculous equipment that others will simply make fun of you after you get in the water. The trips we take are inexpensive when you add up all that goes along with it, and are always to very desirable locations. A cheap trip to a dump is not the way to spend 7 hard earned days of vacation! I learned quickly first class beats dumps every time!
Eight years of business with the original owner is very rare in the dive business and unheard of in this area. Take the lead of others and give diving the 21st century way a try. If you are still trapped in the 70’s, we are probably not for you. If you are not sure of the difference between cost and value, please allow me to explain. If the idea of having a fun, adventuresome time with little or no worry, surrounded by pleasant people enjoying themselves, then we are defiantly your type of dive store!
