Company description
Welcome to the Adventures in Diving Inc. website. Whether you`re a new diver or an old salt, Adventures in Diving is here to help you get the most out of exploring the amazing sights and sounds of the underwater world. From our Sunday Fun Dives to our group trips to exotic dive destinations, from a snorkel keeper to a complete set of gear, from replacing o-rings to overhauling regulators, from entry level classes through instructor, and for all your scuba diving needs, Adventures in Diving is the place to go.
The mystery and allure of the world beneath the sea has beckoned divers for decades. Whether you are exploring a sunken wreck in Lake Erie or discovering a new reef in the Caribbean, the depths below continue to capture your imagination. As a person who appreciates the thrill and excitement of scuba diving, you are invited to experience the savings and benefits of traveling with the staff of Adventures in Diving.
Adventures in Diving Inc. has been in business since May of 1992. We like to think that we`ve earned a pretty good reputation in that time (at least, that`s what our customers and other stores tell us) but we couldn`t do it without the leadership, dedication, skill, and hard work of our staff.
Becoming a scuba diver is like participating in one of the greatest scavenger hunts in the world. You never know what you`re going to find when you go underwater, and even when you go back to your favorite dive site, things will be different.
Scuba diving is an ongoing educational process and a good diver never stops learning. Some of the learning process requires formal classroom presentations as well as pool and open water dives. Much of your learning will be more informal and will be mastered without the benefit of a formal class.
In any case, the excitement begins by enrolling in one of our Open Water Diver courses. These courses are developed for individuals interested in earning a certification card so they can begin exploring and discovering the underwater world firsthand.
Continuing education courses are developed for certified divers who want to improve their skills and learn more about this fascinating activity. Most of these courses can be taken immediately after the completion of the Open Water Diver course, but some have prerequisites. Details about each course offered can be found by clicking the course title below
The highly qualified instructors at Adventures in Diving are certified through PADI and are well respected in the area of recreational diving. When it comes to training; we consistently maintain our high standards, we limit our class sizes, we pay attention to student comfort and we offer a variety of course formats and schedules. So if you want to learn to dive, participate in a specialty course, or study to become a PADI Instructor, go no further, you`ve come to the right place!
Our goal at Adventures in Diving is not to be the ``cheapest`` in town, because we realize that YOU cannot afford to enroll in the cheapest course. Our goal is to provide you with the very best, the most enjoyable and the most comfortable training possible. After all, the way you learn to dive establishes a foundation to build on and is important to the success and enjoyment of all your future dives.
Once you complete your training and receive your certification, we have great follow-up programs which provide you with many opportunities to enjoy your newly developed skills.
Also every month we will announce a specific piece of scuba gear that may be traded-in during that month. Every Tuesday of the month, you can bring in the oldest piece of that item you can find and get cash towards a new one.

Our friendly and courteous staff are here to serve you with all your snorkeling and/or diving needs. Whether you require in-store sales, equipment service, expert dive training or just some friendly conversation, our staff is here for you.
Robert Zimmerman , the president of Adventures in Diving, began teaching students to dive in August of 1990. While continuing to hold a professional full time position in the banking community, Bob spent several years teaching and working at other local dive facilities. Having visited dive centers all across the country, Bob began to lay plans for his own facility. His dream was fulfilled in the spring of 1992 with the opening of Adventures in Diving, a full service, PADI 5-Star Dive Center. Bob`s professional background, his concern for his customers and his love for the sport is evident when you first step foot into the dive center. Bob has been recognized by PADI Quality Assurance for his ``outstanding performance`` as a PADI Instructor and is the recipient of PADI`s ``Certificate of Recognition of Excellence.`` Although Bob`s travels have taken him to many unique parts of the world, he`ll tell you that his favorite dive site is still Cozumel.
Barbara Zimmerman , was introduced to scuba diving in the summer of 1993 and became certified shortly thereafter. Although Barb is a middle school math teacher, you`ll often find her smiling behind the counter as well as leading customers on many of our group trips. She has family on Guam and they threw a great party for everyone traveling with us. Barb`s fondest adventures took her underwater as a teacher argonaut in Dr. Robert Ballard`s Jason Project. Barb went through an extensive interview process and was selected as one of only eight teacher argonauts from around the world. With Barb`s teaching background, her organizational skills and her diving experiences, she was a perfect fit. The months of preparation made Barb`s week of daily underwater satellite broadcasts from inside the Aquarius Lab an exhilarating and enjoyable experience.
Lisa Smith. She earned her PADI Open Water Diver certification with Adventures in Diving in 1996 and joined the ranks of PADI Open Water Instructor in the fall of 2000. She can be found working part-time at the dive center helping out with retail sales, or in the classroom/pool teaching Open Water courses. Lisa also works part-time teaching math to eighth graders at Brecksville-Broadview Heights Middle School. Her favorite dive destination to date is Cozumel, but she intends on researching more sites whenever possible.
Rick Deal. He earned his PADI Open Water Instructor rating in June of 2003. After becoming certified in August of 2000 and making his first dive trip to Cozumel, Rick decided to make a career out of his new found passion. Leaving his art director position he spent a lot of his time diving and working to become a PADI instructor.
