The 45 foot catamaran, Amoray Diver, docks just steps away from the rooms and a guest gear storage facility makes diving simple and hassle-free. Tanks and weights are already loaded onto the boat and our service-oriented staff will make sure your dive or snorkel holiday is safe and fun.
Amy has been in the dive business in the Florida Keys since 1978 and more than a decade of research went into the design of her perfect dive resort. Amoray Dive Resort is the culmination of her experience and perfection. The only location directly on Florida Bay provides not only incredibly beautiful ambiance but quick access to the famous dive sites of Key Largo such as Molasses Reef, French Reef, the Christ Statue, the wreck of the Duane and numerous other locations that will sure to please all levels of divers and snorkelers.
For those who wish to learn more about scuba, a wide range of courses are available from resort course through divemaster and specialty certifications. Open water referrals are our specialty. Divers from all over the world come here to complete their certification in the warm, crystalline waters of the fabulous Florida Keys. PADI and BSAC instruction is available, and Amoray Dive Resort is the only active BSAC School/Branch in Florida.
Eco-tours and the Dolphin Swim Program are other popular activities offered through Amoray. Backcountry tours aboard the Amoray Diver provide a rare opportunity to get a close glimpse of the colorful seabirds of Everglades National Park.
For those more adventurous souls, we can even arrange your underwater wedding. The famed Statue of Christ of the Abyss in the Key Largo National Marine Sanctuary is a popular site for our unique ceremony. As seen in People Magazine and on the nationally televised Geraldo show, this is one wedding you and your guests will never forget!
Amy Slate`s Amoray Dive Resort has luxurious rooms and one bedroom villas - some fully equipped with kitchens, many with screened porches. All are air-conditioned, have ceiling fans, and cable television. Each are just steps away from our fabulous bay-view where the Amoray Diver (our scuba/snorkel boat) rests in it`s berth.
Amoray Dive Resort surrounds it`s guests in the seclusion of a Caribbean plantation, yet offers all of Key Largo`s colorful artisan centers, fine waterfront restaurants, and tiki-bars. Service and comfort are our number one priorities. Divers will never carry their scuba tanks (unless they want to!) Our professionally trained staff will assure a pampered dive experience by paying special attention to your personal needs.
Location description: Your dive adventure begins aboard the Amoray Diver, our pristine 45 foot custom designed dive boat. Departing our docks on Florida Bay, we journey through the Marvin D. Adams waterway - our coral gateway to Caribbean waters. Then the Amoray Diver winds it`s way through a maze of mangroves - the vital breeding and protective habitat for all our tropical marine life.
We are only a fascinating short trip from where the sea`s treasures unfold for scuba and snorkeling enthusiasts. The gems of the sea include enchanting schools of friendly fish, delicate soft corals, and massive colonies of vibrantly colored coral. Water depths over the coral reef vary from 6 to 45 feet (2 to 15 meters). We also feature trips to the challenging wreck of the U.S. Coast Guard cutter Duane (60 to 120 feet/20-35 meters deep).
Amoray has vacation packages specializing in scuba and snorkeling charters, and offers full-service scuba and snorkeling instruction - from ``Bubble Maker`` to certified Divemaster. We also offer specialty courses; U/W Photography, Reef Ecology, Enriched Air Nitrox (EAN), Fish Identification, Night, and Wreck diving -to name but a few. We also perform unique and exciting Underwater weddings. he Amoray Diver is available for whole boat charter on a half or full day basis. What a wonderful way to throw a party, have a special group sunset cruise, or celebrate that perfect wedding.
Amoray Dive Resort will be running Eco-Tours onboard Just-In-Time, our new six-pack catamaran. Trips will be offered on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The five hour Eco-Tour will offer adventure throughout the Florida Bay; the Eco-Tour Crew knows a great deal about the mangroves and will be doing flora and fauna id, bird watching, and even scooping critters out from the bay waters into a net to look at and talk about. Part of the five hour trip can also include at least one snorkeling spot, and a little island tour on foot. It ALSO includes a stop at a local restaurant and a bit of shopping where passengers can check out some local shops and get a bite to eat for an hour or so.
The two hour trip will include some of the same sightseeing, identifying birds and other critters, and snorkeling. Five hour excursions are $75 per person, the two hour trip is $45 each. Maximum of six, minimum of three passengers required to run.
