Company description Oceanic Research Group, Inc. is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) environmental organization dedicated to ocean conservation. Our principal mission is the production of educational films and products. We were formed in 1991 and incorporated in 1993.
Our educational films for use in the classroom have won over a dozen awards including the CINE Golden Eagle. Our marine scholarship program gives tuition money to students pursuing degrees in ocean-related studies.
Oceanic research Group is comprised of a small board of directors and a few volunteers. We are not a large organization, but the success of our programs in schools and on television have proved that a small group of people can make a difference.
Oceanic Research Group, Inc. is offering a scholarship for deserving students pursuing marine-related undergraduate or graduate studies. Oceanic Research Group is a volunteer, 501 (c)(3) nonprofit, environmental organization based in Massachusetts. Its mission is to promote the conservation of the marine environment through education.
The scholarship is open to undergraduate students entering the junior or senior year or graduate students with an overall GPA of at least 3.0/4.0 and demonstrated financial need. Students must be United States citizens and enrolled or accepted in an accredited United States college or university beginning with the 2006 fall term.
The scholarship will be awarded at the Oceanic Research Group Benefit on April 29, 2006. It is asked that the winner attempt to attend this event.
Also, one of O.R.G.`s main directives is the production of quality educational films for use in schools. These films are available through two major distributors world-wide but we hope to make them available on-line here for free. We are currently seeking a grant to do that. We also maintain an award-winning marine life ``fact page`` that many students and teachers find useful, called the ``Wonders of the seas.
