What that means to you is that you are getting your training through the largest educational organization in the dive industry. PADI certifies about 75% of all divers each year. We not only have divers worldwide, but have several overseas offices to assist divers with their diving needs.
Scuba Diving Training is split into 3 sections Classroom, Pool, and Open Water:
*The classroom sessions usually take about 5 hours to complete. I normally set this up over three sessions but in an accelerated class we can do it in two longer sessions.
Before each class session the student is required to read or watch the appropriate chapters and complete a chapter worksheet. (usually about 15 questions, related to the chapter just finished) During the class session we summarize the material and then a quiz is given to make sure basic core safety theory is understood.
*The pool sessions are where you actually get to learn the skills you read about in the manual or saw in the video. The pool sessions take place after each class session.
This is when the fun really starts! You will get hands on experience with the dive gear. After learning how to put the gear together, we get in the pool where you will learn the basic skills to help you become comfortable and proficient in the water. Of course, it`s natural to be anxious that first night. PADI`s system of instruction is designed to put students at ease, because you learn basic skills at your pace.
*The open water check out dives is the final part of certification. Locally we dive at Saguaro Lake. You can also do this on any of our scheduled trips or you can do it at the destination you are going to on your vacation. There are four dives that must be completed over two days.
